Catapult explores a new take on a commercial learning laboratory. It cultivates creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship by connecting interdisciplinary teams of students, faculty, and practitioners in a rich distribution of courses, collaborative projects and competitions that immerses students into the creative entrepreneurship process.
Students from all disciplines within Southeast Missouri State University will have an opportunity to lead and/or participate in the creation, development, and sales of creative and innovative products and services in this student operated venture.
Catapult features two launch levels. The upper level houses a creative laboratory where students and practitioners can make use of a variety of studio and creative spaces to operate in. A large impact room stands overlooking the ground level which includes a retail space, art gallery, letterpress print shop, a gourmet beverage and snack bar, and modular classroom.
Student-focused, it is designed to vertically integrate marketable ideas via high level of faculty involvement and community mentoring. The primary products will feature a multitude of merchandise for sale with a sustainable twist and local connections in - fashion accessories, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, paper products, photography services, and more!
When in need of a pit stop make sure to refuel at the beverage bar with gourmet coffee, craft beverages, and light snacks.
