We heard about this place from John of SWAT boat tours. Which is awesome by the way and so worth it! We decided to check it out and we're pleasantly surprised. The Ponga fish sandwich, recommended by our waiter, was delicious. Homemade chips and fries were really good. All this by a beautiful view of the marina and relaxing scenery on the Mississippi River. We'll be back!

Not amazing, but totally passable (if quirky). As with anyone who's lived in New Orleans any amount of time, I have no expectation that the Cajun items on any menu would be authentic in any way and this place was no exception. However, while the red beans and rice were nothing like you'd be served in Louisiana, they were exactly like what you'd get if you threw red beans in a halfway decent Andouille gumbo. The flavors were straight off the bayou even if the recipes were not. My New York strip wasn't the very highest quality, but I also didn't pay that kind of price. What I got had a little more gristle than you'd get from a great steakhouse, but the preparation (ordered rare) was excellent and all the flavor and most of the tenderness was there. I'd try some other restaurants in the area first, but I wouldn't rule out going back.

I've eaten catfish for over 55 years--from the Carolinas to the Midwest--and I have to say the catfish here is probably the best I've ever eaten. Lightly breaded, fried to perfection, gorgeous large fillets. It really can't be any better. My wife had scallops and they were good as well. We're definitely coming back here!

We had a very enjoyable dinner. We were quickly seated and were quickly greeted by our waitress who expertly explained the menu and special to us. We both decided to have the Charlie's catfish dinner and borh of us ordered Cole slaw and fries for the sides. The catfish was hot and the fish was flaky and delisious and the coleslaw was very good and creamy but the fires were cool and not hot. This is a very minor detail but it certainly detracted from an orhewise perfect meal. We will definitely be back if we are ever in town again.
