I have been a resident since after the new management company purchased the property. I have no clue why "TCrash" made a recent review saying it's a "dump" with "high crime". That was accurate like 3+ years ago, but when the new ownership took over they required and still require background checks and booted the folks who were a detriment to the property. Then they renovated the apartments, redid the entry areas of each building, landscaped the entire property, and have security that are actual South Bend Police Officers. In addition there is 24 hour assistance and if something happens after hours that can't wait they send someone usually in half an hour or less. I've actually needed to twice and the first time was like 15 minutes and the second was like 45 minutes, but only because he was delayed clearing fallen branches that hit some power thing on the building due to the storm. 
This isn't anything like the posts from people who lived here several years ago or more. People go outside, kids play, folks take walks and walk dogs at all hours and I haven't seen or heard of anything bad occurring that required police the entire time I've here. In fact, the only "situation" I know of is when I needed an ambulance. 
My point is that if you come see the place it's not anything like his and a few other people's comments. They aren't necessarily mistaken. The reviews are just from before this complex was turned into Apartment Homes instead of thuggish housing.
