I grew up terrified of dentists with some bad experiences.  After a few good years without seeing one, I forced myself into the nearest dentist office I could find; fearing if I didn't see one soon I might run into more serious problems.  Luckily, I walked into Dr. Henrie's practice.

He is a retired military officer.  It shows in his work as in he is professional, precise, meticulous, and efficient.  On the other hand, he is surprisingly soft and if you express your concerns or you are visibly anxious he is more comforting than any other Doctor I know.  Him and his staff helped me through the damage I had caused by avoiding dentist offices for years.  They gave me no judgement and only worked to develop my oral health.  Ever since that first visit I have made it into his office at least every 6 months, regardless of my phobia.

This last visit I had my first cavity since I've been seeing him.  He scheduled me in for a few days later.  I walked in at 11:20, had the filling done, and walked out by 11:35.  Relatively pain free.  I could darn near cry and I don't know what I'm going to do after I move.  I might just fly across the country for my bi-annual appointment with him.
