The old guy volunteering was super nice and knew a TON about the history of firefighting. Small, but nicely laid out museum. Kids got to play a lot with the lights and little fire pole. Worth the very reasonable price of admission.

We went here for the first time with our boys a couple of weeks ago. I can't say enough good things about the musieum and the firemen that work there. The history in that building is so amazing, plus there is play space for the kids, they do demos and education. We'll be back.

We have been to a lot of Fire museums both nationally and internationally and this was the a very nice little museum. A firefighter will take you through to your the few tricks they have and let the kids ring the bells for fun. There is also a nice interactive exhibit of a burned room, which is educational and teaches kids the importance of fire safety. The play area is clean and well maintained, with a fire pole and two different tricks to pretend to drive. I also liked the interactive fire hydrant, the first we have seen. Plenty of free parking in the driveway but also paid street parking is available. All in all it is a good activity and I would say good for anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. They also offer group discounts and birthday party options.

I pretty much grew up in this Engine House as it was being restored. My dad is currently the President and was the previous Columbus fire historian (until he retired from the Columbus Fire Department). This place is a gem and definitely worth a trip. The volunteers will take you on a guided tour and answer any questions you have. There’s a play area for kids and display rooms that show what items look like after a fire. They go all out for birthday parties and receptions held here. I really can’t say enough about this wonderful place. I may be a bit bias, but I know how much love has gone into the restoration of this museum and think everyone should visit at least once!
