It is located in Salem District in the northwestern portion of Spotsylvania County, VA.HistoryChancellor High School opened in the fall of 1988 and is one of five high schools in Spotsylvania County. Currently Chancellor High School has a student population of approximately 1357 students with 3 administrators, 90 members in the instructional staff, 16 instructional aides, 6 secretaries, 1 bookkeeper, 1 nurse, 1 test coordinator, 3 library staff, 4 counseling staff, 1 activities director, 1 deputy, 2 health & safety officers, and 24 cafeteria workers.Named for the Civil War Battle of Chancellorsville, which was fought just west of the school location, Chancellor High School also has the honor of being a Plank Owner of the USS Chancellorsville.
