My son started going here about a year ago. Specifically the one on children of America on forecast road was the one that gave us the problems. We first started out on Deacon Road which was not a big problem just slightly because I was a new pair and I gave it another chance. I've been attended the children of America on Courthouse Road because it was right across the street from where we had been locally staying. Yes I am a mother who has received assistance before. And here again recently, but that should not make A difference only mothers opinion on how a local daycare should be taking care of children. I am posting this with you hoping to reach out to parents were looking for a good environment for the children to be at.... there have been multiple different managers in a matter of the last few minutes switching teachers in and out and allowing parents to go through different changes without notifying anyone. As your children grow up they will switch classrooms and go to different rooms. You will not always be notified. That's when the problems began. I am a very hard person to get along with, and I'm very strict when it comes to my child. But when it comes to his safety and knowing What's best for him is when my concern comes in. The last six months my son has come home trying to sit inside in front of a television computer screen or tablet. Children of America has something called Tadpoles where you can watch from your phone what they are doing. When I did have so far so my son on a tablet or computer screen or even sometimes on a phone. I voiced my concern and got nowhere. For about three or four days they've been decided to come home with a couple pictures that he got to draw on a piece of paper. They changed it last not even a week. Period. I've been pointed out that my son had been coming home with scratches and bite marks on a regular basis, they are supposed to come home with an incident report, and until I get and I mention something nothing was being done. On top of every single time I would ask when and where they were coming from no one could give me answers. On top of every single time I would ask when and where they were coming from no one could give me answers. Not Even the teachers could give me answers. I have caught the teachers on their cell phones numerous times. Being that my son became so close to both teachers of his because they are a great group and they would work together because they're so frustrated with management, I would let it slide. But now when you look back and it all builds up it begins to be frustration. Recently I have had a lot of complications with myself and my sons family I limit to who can and cannot pick my son up On a regular basis. Just yesterday I had notified the main manager Miss Uncle on a regular basis. Just yesterday I had notified the main manager Miss Uncle however you spell her anka. ...however you spell her name.... that no one and I repeat no one, was allowed to pick up my son or even make visitation. This evening I received a phone call leaving a voicemail behind stating that somebody had picked up my son from the daycare and get the only reason why but they went back into the daycare was to swipe him out for me because I get help. But. Period. She didn't decide that after my son has left the building and the only reason he came back into that building this evening was specifically to swipe him out. By then I had already told her I was pressing charges and I was going to file because she could not follow directions and this is not the first time. I have reached out to the main manager Mary numerous times voicing my concern. No changes stick, this daycare isn't a place for our children.

If I could give them no stars I would. I have had this place over charge me, and lie to me on a number of occasions. I initially let go of a few billing mishaps because my child had a good teacher there, but has since been moved to another class. The teachers are good but from a corporate or management level these people don't know left from right. They will tell you one thing, and do another. You will be told one rate and 2 weeks later have a balance on your account because they decided you didn't have anything in writing to prove a rate even though you were charged that rate the last week. AND THEN you call corporate only to never be called back. I wouldn't take my dog here.

I have been using COA-Bluemont for almost 3 years now. From the beginning Gretchen, the director, has been a fabulous point of contact. She loves on and cares for each of "her" children deeply. I know my babies are safe and cared for while here. I show up unannounced and watch regularly on the cameras which is a great service provided by them. All childcare facilities will have things come up and EVERY time I have voiced a concern to the management here it has been immediately resolved. No matter how big or how small, they make sure to adhere to my wishes to the best of their ability. With my first child, who started here at 11 months, she knew her ABC's and her colors and shapes and animals in English and Spanish before she was 2, she is now a thriving 3 year old with lots of self confidence and a voice. My infant has been attending since he was 6 weeks old and the teachers do their absolute best to make sure he is happy and healthy. The center has allowed me to use cloth diapers and I prepare and provide homemade purees for him. I get daily updates on how their day was and what they did. The center typically contacts me every time one of them doesn't feel well or has an accident, and I was most certainly advised of the required 2 week cancellation notice when I signed up with them. I have recommended COA to many of my family and friends and will continue to support Gretchen at this facility! Thank you for all that you do to take care of my babies!

I just want to let the director know what she has done to my family. My daughter attended in 2015 as a 16 month old. We repeatedly expressed concerns to Gretchen and were offered no solutions and weren't ever contacted to work things out. My child arrived earlier than most kids, though Gretchen misrepresented when we were signing up, saying she arrived only 15 minutes or so before other kids. Really it was more like an hour or so and it was almost 3 hours before her teacher was scheduled to arrive in class. Rather than tell us about this, they placed her in an INFANT room, one time even putting my 16 month old toddler in an infant crib to "take a nap" at 730 in the morning! I spoke with Gretchen about possibly bringing a teacher in earlier or allowing my daughter to be in the older kids class for an hour before her classmates arrived. After coming in one day to see my daughter being wheeled down a hallway by the front desk clerk in a filthy buggy, being fed a half of a banana in a moving cart right next to a poor little special needs girl who was visibily choking on her own giant banana chunk, we decided to remove my daughter from the facility, deeming it unsafe and understaffed. I was told I would have to pay a penalty of two weeks worth of childcare for removing her without notice.. even after telling Gretchen explicitly that if things didn't change we would have to take our child elsewhere. I consider that notice. Eventually after many conversations with the headquarters of Children of America, Gretchen lied blatantly to save her own behind, telling HQ that we never expressed concerns and she offered to do things she never offered to do. I was told they were working on the issue and would be contacted for further discussion. They never did. Months later after giving birth to my second child I was presented with a letter from a collections company accompanied by harassing calls at my home and business to collect $400 for Children of America. Without notifying me of their decision or talking to me they sent this matter to collections. This has hit my credit so terribly that my family now doesn't qualify for a loan to buy a house or to even rent an apartment. If I could afford to pursue this via a civil suit I would. This woman's inability to admit her mistakes and misconduct has cost me more than she probably imagined. Our home could be sold out from under us at any time leaving our family of four with few options. Thank you Children of America for ruining our lives.

We used this daycare from infancy until age 2 when we moved and it was always a wonderful and safe place for our little boy to play, learn and grow.
