So yes, their high price shoes are comfortable. They really push that their shoes are "machine washable" so I thought that was a really great perk. I put my shoes in the washer only to have them detach from the base of the shoe. Since I no longer had the receipt and "they couldn't find my purchase", they were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation. Oh, I take that back ... they offered me a small discount on my next purchase. Yeah, I won't ever buy another pair of these shoes ... ever. If you get pulled in at the local outdoor market and purchase - BE SURE TO KEEP YOUR RECEIPT and note their very strict return/replace policy.

I have so many different pairs of shoes from this company. Great staff and huge selection! Very comfortable with or without heels. I'm on my feet all day so a good pair of shoes is a must.

They have a hard time paying their bills to companies they contract with, i.e. they don't pay their bills!

On July 25, 2015 in Nantucket, I ordered a pair of boots. Because my size was not in stock, the clerk filed an order. It is now Sept. 12, and I have yet to receive my shoes. I've called several times and each time have been told the shipment has been confiscated by US Customs because of failure to pay tariff. Further, I've been informed that the bills of lading (as I believe is the term) have been mixed up, so Charleston Shoe is not even certain when the tariff is paid if they can identify my order. Now, let us recall, this is a company that boasts of US manufacturing. That's a negative, but also there's this: Rather than offer to refund my money, I am told to be patient. Patience has now worn thin.to their credit, the pair of shoes I bought and brought home with me are fine, comfortable and attractive. Which makes this miss even more grievous.

Similar issue. I have been waiting months for replacement of a shoe that broke from the store to my car. Totally unhelpful employees. For the price I expected better. Next time pay half and buy from the factory in San Miguel de Allende.
