Charlie puts "a Cup of Love in every Batch!"

In 1974 after 35 successful years in the Bar-B-Que business, Bill Robinson turned 80 years old, and sold the business to me, Charlie Staples and my wife MARGE. But it was a full year later before Bill would sell us the recipe for his special Signature Bar-B-Que Sauce. (He had to be sure that we had the grit to make it in the business.)

He Bought the Recipe from an old lady who had moved to Youngstown. She said herself and late husband had been in the Bar-B-Que business for 28 years down south, made a lot of money with this special bar-b-que sauce and she would sell it to him if he fixed scratches on her expensive furniture. Bill said to me, “Charles, that was in 1939 and I have not changed a thing in that sauce and don’t you change a thing either.” And we never did.

Charlie Staples BBQ has been on Belmont and Rayen Avenues in Youngstown, Ohio for 38 years “and still smoking”.

Now you can enjoy the taste of Real Bar-B-Que Sauce. A recipe that’s over 100 years old. Longevity does have its place.
