DO NOT OPEN A TRUST ACCOUNT at CHASE We changed the Trustee on a trust account at Chase Bank. Unfortunately, after changing the Trustee, Chase Bank kept sending pertinent and confidential information and statements to the prior Trustee. Then, they would send mail in the name of the new Trustee but send it to the old Trustee's address. Then, they would send end-of-year tax information to the prior Trustee. This went on for 2+ years even after approximately 10 different calls informing them that YET AGAIN another piece of mail went to the previous Trustee or the previous Trustee's name was STILL LISTED ON THE TAX OR OTHER FORM. Promise after promise was made that everything had been changed to reflect the new Trustee and the new Trustee's address, but forms and documents kept being sent to the old Trustee and/or the old Trustee's name was on pertinent documents. After repeated warnings that we would transfer all of the assets out of the bank if it continued, we had no choice but to completely close the account and move it to another bank. Just a warning to others - if you need to change the name of the Trustee, just close the account. Save yourself the grief and aggravation of what Chase will put you through due to incompetence and/or systems that are not integrated. OH - and MOST IMPORTANTLY - the person who originally set up the trust received a call from a PERSONAL BANKER asking them questions about an email I sent about my PERSONAL account. YES, the Personal Banker discussed MY PERSONAL SITUATION with the person who WAS NOT ON MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT. But, since I'm trustee and I could see their trust account on my home banking, the Personal Banker contacted them about my personal account. Isn't that UNETHICAL? When I explained to the Personal Banker that they are NOT AUTHORIZED to discuss MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT with ANYONE ELSE, they still called the person THE NEXT DAY to give them the answer to my original question about my personal account. YES! You read that right. After being corrected yet again, when they called me back a third time, they used the other person's name in the conversation and acted like they were speaking to them. So, word to the wise - if you set up a trust account be aware that they may be called when you ask information online about your own personal account. How is that possible? I don't know, but don't open a trust account with them.
