Terrible experience with my teenager suffering from back problems. Doctor spent most of the appointment talking about how great her university test scores were yet how her grades were never good because her parents did not bribe her school with donations. She said if my daughter kept her grades to a "high B+," she should do "ok" in life even if she does not make valedictorian. (We never brought up a desire to be valedictorian--I do not know where this rant sprung from. ) Docotr told her she was a "large kid" at 145 lbs, 5 feet, 6 inches, and that once her "logic" develops, she will learn to live with her pain. Said if she were 35 years old, she would do more for her, but since she is only 15, she did not want to do further testing unless we demaded it because it involves needles and it "hurts". Basically, this woman spoke unprofessional gibberish for an hour. What a waste of time off school, and insulting and hurtful to my child (who happens to be very smart and logical already) as well. No wonder, as the doctor said, her own son has never come back to live with her once he left for college. Can you blame the poor guy?
