While the food was indeed quite tasty there were many parts of our dining experience that were lacking. First, the seating and overall dining atmosphere was not exactly comfortable; it had more of a small coffee corner cafe ambiance rather than a dining restaurant.  Second, the rather pricey entrees did not come with a dinner salad or bread. Third, while we were able to bring in our own bottle of wine, which was nice, we were charged a corking fee without prior notification, so it was simply added onto our bill. Lastly, the menu is quite pricey and our bill added up quickly, but the restaurant only accepts cash or check which was a huge inconvenience. Overall, I thought the food was excellent from the appetizers to the dessert. However, the inconveniences of our visit outweighed the overall dining experience, so this is not a place that we would likely dine at again.

Really great food. Chef cones up with some interesting dishes. Presentation and execution are always spot on. No credit cards; cash or check only. Also, no alcohol sold there but you can bring your own and pay corking fee.

Delicious & great service! A couple things to know ahead of time is that they only take cash or checks & they have no liquor license but do what we do...bring your own wine or go across the street & buy what you want at CVS  (lol, they have a decent selection believe it or not). I would recommend reservations for Friday or Saturday.

We have loved the chowder house for a long time. Great food and really nice people. During the summer, we like to sit outside. If you are going there for the first time, 1) no liquor license, but you can bring your own wine or beer; 2) salads and bread are not included with the dinners; 3) no credit cards, cash or check. Really nice atmosphere. Wonderful fresh fish. Two dishes I recommend are the ahi tuna appetizer and the chowder or bisque. The ahi and the soups are the best i have had anywhere.

Amazing food! Great find, good prices, cozy atmosphere, great service. Bring your own wine or beer for a table fee and enjoy the food!
