My husband and I embarked on a memorable cross-country journey, transitioning from the glittering lights of Las Vegas to the historical grandeur of Washington, D.C., as newlyweds. Amidst our adventure, we found ourselves nestled in St. Louis, a city we decided to explore for a few hours. Our night's sanctuary was the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, a splendid hotel that left us yearning for more nights under its roof. However, with a few hours to spare, we opted for a delightful brunch at "Chris @ The Docket." We had perused reviews and menus beforehand, and both my husband and I were convinced it was the ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely morning meal. The pleasant stroll from the Hyatt to Chris @ The Docket allowed us to soak in the local ambience, adding to the anticipation of our culinary experience. Upon arrival, we couldn't help but notice the vibrant festival taking place just across the street. Despite this tantalizing distraction, we remained committed to our brunch plans, eagerly providing our contact information to the host and patiently awaiting the notification that our table was ready. In hindsight, our decision to stay the course was a regrettable one. We had been swayed by the glowing reviews, but our brunch experience left much to be desired. I ordered the chicken sandwich, only to be met with disappointment – it was the driest, most flavorless rendition of a chicken sandwich I had ever encountered. I couldn't help but think that I could whip up a more appetizing version at home. Meanwhile, my husband's choice, the BLT, was equally underwhelming. To describe it as dry and rubbery would be an understatement. To make matters worse, the avocado in my sandwich had taken on an unappetizing shade of black, and the silverware we were provided with was far from clean. Our server, Robyn, exhibited an unwelcoming attitude, casting a shadow over the entire dining experience. I remain utterly baffled by the hype surrounding this establishment. It is abundantly clear that the enthusiasm is unwarranted. As we nibbled on our disappointing meals, we discovered that the event across the street was "The Taste of Black St. Louis." In hindsight, I wished we had chosen to venture there and sample the offerings on display. While the staff at Chris @ The Docket were courteous, the food simply did not meet the standards set by the reviews. It wasn't worth the price or the time invested. Allow me to offer some sage advice: bypass this establishment and seek out a dining experience that genuinely lives up to the hype. St. Louis undoubtedly has a plethora of culinary treasures awaiting discovery.
AMAZING. The hollandaise sauce was the best I've ever had. The different flavor mimosas were a delight, I recommend the strawberry-so delicious! The food came out fast and the staff was really friendly. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Stopped by on a whim, and I’m glad we did! All of the food was good, but the french toast was probably some of the best I’ve ever had. The customer service was excellent, and the food was on point. We went close to closing on a Wednesday so it was not crowded at all. I would definitely eat here again, and would highly recommend to anyone in the area!!
Chris' @ The Docket was amazing. From the beginning everything was perfect, and every staff member friendly and professional, and fun. The menu had a great selection of food and drinks. I had the Cali Benedict and an Island Mimosa. I definitely recommend trying out Chris' @ The Docket. 10/10 Thank you! I will be back.
Restaurant ambiance is dope downtown long wait on weekends. I got the infamous breakfast fried rice and it was good. Sauce took it over the top and the portion was decent for the price. My friend got the eggs Benedict and said it was amazing. I would come back because our server was super kind and excellent.Food: 4/5
Solid choice for breakfast. My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed our breakfast here. It was delicious regular breakfast food, which is what we like. Some restaurants try to "fancy up" everything and ruin it for me. The omlett I had was good, and so was my wife's French toast. My daughter isn't a fan of breakfast food, so she got the chicken fingers, which she enjoyed. The staff was friendly and attentive.
The other reviews are correct about this being an excellent place to eat! The staff was friendly and we were seated quickly. Good coffee was followed with our orders very fast. I had the breakfast fried rice and it was delicious! My wife had the farmer's omelette which she said was the best omelette she's had. My son loved the waffle that he got.
Last week we came down town for breakfast and a trip to IKEA, ended up in a finder bender on Grand and we asked the responding officer who had the best breakfast in the area and this place was his response. The atmosphere is nice, staff wasn't overly friendly, but not unfriendly either. Food however was great. I had the summer omelete with hash and French toast. The amount of cheese to ingredient ratio was perfect in the omelete, hashbrowns are decent, however toast wasn't really toasted. French toast was tasty, didn't finish it, but took it home and did later I never eat my leftovers The big guy had a country omelete and the kiddo cheesy eggs, bacon, and cakes. Strawberry lemonade was good, but not the best I've ever had. Would definitely come again. Limited lunch menu.
Timing on a Sunday is everything. But seated w/in 10. Quick w/menus & ordering. Pancakes were light & fluffy & tons of other choicesFood: 5/5
Was disappointed in this place. I had high expectations when I walked in. One our food took 40 minutes to come and when it arrived it wasn’t all that. Hash browns were bland and oily. The waitress/ bartender was the best thing this place had. She was on point and the only reason I gave 4 stars for service. I rate her as a 5.Food: 2/5
