For cafeteria food it was very enjoyable and the prices were very reasonable. The selection of food was very good as well. The staff was friendly and seemed to know many of the patrons. Having said that, this rating would have been five stars however eating at this location presents an inconvenience of going to an ATM to get cash. This establishment only deals in cash, no cards or any other form of payment. When we asked why the cashier explained the prices would have to rise so significantly to pay for the expense of allowing cards as tender they feel the prices would be too high for the clientele. I've worked for years in the retail industry at all levels and this explanation is not acceptable or reasonable. Side note; this was the first time I've actually touched cash in over two years. One might say that fact is irrelevant, however I feel it speaks for itself. If every establishment I've visited in two years can afford to pay for the card systems, logic says this place can as well.
My great grandma introduced me to this place & the whole reason we came was for the home made pie. The elderly definitely gate keep this place lol but that’s okay! I can see why. My mother had the fried fish & it was so good!! I tried the chicken & dumplings, the chicken was so moist & delicious, the dumplings not so much. But they have TONS of options. It reminds me of a school lunch line but waaaay better tasting! Now let’s talk about the whole reason we went, which was the pie! It was so good! The crème brûlée was by far my favorite!! We probably took home 8 different slices of pie lol but I will say, the end crust wasn’t that good. It was almost like a burnt butter taste. Maybe we just had gotten one that was left in too long or had too much butter on the outside brim of the pie but either way, it wasn’t a deal breaker for me because I still loved it! I just didn’t eat the outer crust. My grandma said the same thing though so maybe that’s just their recipe idk If your looking for a place to take your mom, grandma, or mawmaw. This is the place. Or even just for some coffee & pie!! They have all the old time favorites! All in all, I wasn’t blown away. But I loved the pie!!! I just wish the outer crust tasted just as good as the rest of the pie did! Workers were 10/10 amazing & nice!
Homestyle cooking in an old fashioned restaurant with cafeteria style ordering. You grab a tray and let the workers know which foods you would like. There is always a daily special that is priced very affordably. It is a place designed for older people I'm guessing but we still had a great time we are in our 30s. Plenty of meat entrees, vegetable sides, salads, and pie slices to choose from plus breads and rolls cooked fresh daily. I don't eat meat so my tray was full of veggies and a slice of chocolate pie yum!. My boyfriend said the breaded pork chop was very good! Tip: They only take cash!
Miss Shari's is an absolute delight. It is cafateria style dining but everything is hand made fresh. The food is absolutely delicious and done well I just wish a younger crowd would appreciate the quality and visit more. Prices are more than reasonable
WARNING - if you get something you don’t like or that tastes bad you are just out of luck. Eat it or starve! They don’t take anything back. Also the inconvenience of having to get cash isn’t worth it either. Taking cards is part of doing business. It is an expected business expense. Them saying they would have to raise their prices too high is a lie unless their card processing company has the highest fees out there. I am a small business owner and never considered a cash only business. 90% of my business is by card.
My wife and I really like Miss Sheri's. It has a variety of good food and friendly employees. It sure beats a lot of your fast food places. The prices are reasonable for what you get.
Let me start by saying the food is always excellent at Miss Cheri’s restaurant. However on my recent visit I decided to get a piece of chocolate pie. After taking one bite I did not think it tasted very well. It was bitter. At that point I proceeded to take it back and asked if I could exchange it for something else. At that point I was addressed by a snotty lady who claimed to be the person that made the pie and told me there was nothing wrong with the pie because they have been selling them all day with no issues on the taste. She then said they do not do taste samples and walked around back. Needless to say I was shocked and it will be awhile before I patronize Miss Cheri’s.
The food was good. But it was nothing to write home about. It was a wide selection of but it was a little pricey for what we got almost home cooking but not quite I'd go back again, maybe.
Old school cafe style home cooking. Food is always good and you can’t beat the price. Very friendly staff. If you like fish, the fried Cod is where it’s at!
They always have excellent food and plenty of choices. It's a clean place too. Friendly staff.
