Very, BAD unpleasant experience at the Cottage Grove Chuck & Don's today. I haven't been discriminated against in a long time to my face. My husband and I were shopping for a fur removal device and decided on the Furminator ($36) which had a supposed special promo for a free puppy towel. Apparently the Manager/supervisor employee Carol can tell by the way we look (Asian, Not Caucasian), we were "low-end" shoppers, because only "High-End" customers receive special coupons in their emails. I offered to check my email but she retorted "Only those that spent a lot of money" at their store receive the promo, and either way I would need to go home and print her a copy anyway even if I had the promo. What the heck? Was it necessary to say all that to us. They had the stupid coupon promo right in front of them, so they could've scanned it I bet. I couldn't care less about the towel thing, really, it's about what was said. The cashier was trying to be helpful, but nothing was going to remedy incompetent remarks by a supervisor. So, after my husband and I purchased the fur remover and walked out the store, it just didn't sit right with me how her attitude was towards my husband and I. I decided to turn back and return the Furminator device. So, from now on, I will just take my business to "low-end" places (Amazon) which I found without coupon or special promos for $15 for the exact Furminator. Chuck & Don's you go ahead and Keep your "high-end" customers and "high-end" prices. You just lost yourself a customer for life.

I always get great service at Chuck and Don's. Employees ask right away if assistance is needed, are willing to call other stores if they don't have your product in stock, and if you purchase large bags of food they will carry it to your car. Join Friends of Chuck (free) and get your 13th bag of dog food for free, plus get a (store credit) quarterly rebate based on the amount of money you spent there in that quarter.

Friendly and helpful staff who greet you when you walk in, they carry crickets (that they actually feed and you can tell they're taken care of, because they live much longer than other companies crickets), items tend to be less expensive here, and for a small store they have a good variety for cat and dog supplies. Wish they had more lizard supplies though!

Nice folks, wide selections of cat and dog food , they have live crickets, super worms, and meal worms, but the selection of dry reptile and bird food are very limited, sufficient nonetheless.
