Dr. Kaufman is the BEST! He was very reassuring, pleasant and showed concern for my comfort before and after surgery. His entire staff was professional and polite. I highly recommend him.
My husband, Jasper Grady is Dr. Kaufman's patient. Not sure why this review shows my name. He has been very warm, courteous and willing to include me, Jack's wife, when he shares information. The actual review is being done by Jack.: I have found Dr. Kaufman to be very thorough, quite willing to answer any questions that my wife and I have. He is very laid back which makes me feel comfortable. I was awake during the whole surgery and was amazed at how relaxed he was in performing the surgery and relating to the staff. I feel very blessed to have him as my surgical doctor.
I have been going to the Cincinnati Eye Institute for many years and Dr Adam Kaufman has been my doctor from the beginning. I had a rare eye disease and he did everything he could over a few years to save my eye but I ended up losing it. Dr. Kaufman continues to take care of my only eye and I appreciate everything he and his staff does for me. I would and have highly recommended him to all my friends and family.
The whole appointment took 2 hours. I waited 30 minutes to get called back and the medical assistant took my measurements and did my eye tests with my contacts in my eyes still. Then waited 45 minutes for the doctor, who did not apologize for such a long wait. His medical assistant joined shortly after. Once he left the room, she said "oh hold on I have to burp" and then belched very loudly. I could not believe how unprofessional. Not sure if it was an off day, but would not recommend to others.
At my routine eye exam, my doctor found something abnormal with my left retina. I was referred to the Cincinnati Eye Institute. My experience was less than satisfactory. The first person I saw had hygiene issues and was rather odiferous. The next gentleman I saw was had his hair done up in a bun held by a chop stick, long painted fingernails, and beard. While he was polite and respectful, I was waiting for Benny Hill to pop out. Both eyes were dilated, when I only needed the left examined. I told the odiferous man, that in the past I had bad reactions to the dilation drops. The last time I was dilated, I had to get allergy eye drops to stop the inflammation. They went ahead and dilated both eyes with the “stronger dilation” eye drops. The doctor had someone look at my eye first, doctor 1. Doctor 1 then wanted a student to look at my dilated eyes. I told him no, that was not going to happen. Finally, Dr. Hutchins, he confirmed what doctor 1 saw and wanted the student to take a look which I told them was not going to happen, saying “I don’t want any more light shined in my eyes.” Oh dear doctors, bright light is painful when you are dilated go stare at the sun! I drove home with dilated eyes. While at home my eyes turned bright red, my eyes stayed dilated. I tried lubricating eye drops to get the burning to stop. Nothing changed. I called the office where I left a message and got a response about two hours later. Fortunately for me my mother called and reminded me, “the last time this happened the doctor ordered allergy eye drops.” I went to CVS and got a bottle of allergy eye drops which stopped my eyes from burning. 11 hours after my appointment I have headache, sinus headache, both eyes feel scratchy, I still cannot read paper copy, and I am still light sensitive. I will never be back!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Adam Kaufman for over 20 years. Dr. Kaufman and his staff are not only friendly but they have become family. Dr. Kaufman has successfully completed 2 corneal transplant procedures and a punctured corneal surgery. Thank you Dr. Kaufman for your professional work and my vision.
Dr. Adam Kaufman was terrific during my visit for a pre-op cataract consultation. Skilled, kind and caring. He answered all of my questions, both technical and concerns, clearly without rushing his answers with detailed answers about the various technologies available. His staff and associates treated me with the same level of care as they performed many measurements on my eyes.
Dr. Adam Kaufman and the entire Staff at CEI at UCHMC and Blue Ash are the Best and Excellent at their profession. Dr Kaufman is a Brilliant Surgeon and Dr Brafman makes sure everything is covered and correct from A to Z. Because of them, I have the MIRACLE Of Renewed Sight. I am Eternally Grateful and Thankful.
CEI has pleasant and knowledgable staff members, and the medical staff is of the highest quality. I would recommend them to anyone. The only problem I had was with the sometimes long waiting time, although I realize that it cannot always be avoided. But that is life.
