Celebrated 27 years with my bride with a wonderful dinner at The City Cellar and Loft. Great service from Isabella. Seared scallops appetizer, shrimp & grits for my wife, bourbon barrel pork chop with collards and mashed potatoes for me, and lemon pie for dessert. She liked the peach martini, too. Thanks for a great evening!
A very cozy, rustic restaurant snuggled into downtown Cartersville adjacent to the railroad tracks. Charming place with exposed floor joists overhead and a wooden-themed atmosphere. Entrance goes downstairs and opens up to a spacious seating area and a nicely appointed bar. The food was really good. We had the loaded potato soup, the Buttermilk Half Chicken Plate with mashed potatoes and gravy served with collards, and the Fried Green Tomato BLT w/ fries. The meal started with Fried Cheese Curds. The menu is small and doesn't overwelm the customer. Very friendly staff that welcomes you warmly. Highly recommend this place.
Great Fish and Chips. They hand bread their fish. Super friendly staff surprised at other places that do not have that, great wait staff. I sat the patio to enjoy this beautiful weather. Even got to see the train go by while eating. Nice building across the street with the Coca Cola painting. No issues parking at lunch. The patio area featured nice umbrellas for shade and very cool "rustic" lighting. I'm glad to see non chain places, making it and providing good food.
Returning to Illinois after a family death, we stopped at The Cellar. What a wonderful choice. The setting is lovely—rustic contemporary. The fried green tomatoes and sweet tea, fabulous. Our main courses, desert, drinks—were perfection. And the staff! We walked in solemn and sad, and left feeling nourished in every way.
I had a few dinners at this place a few years back and was not super impressed with the food. The drinks and atmosphere were great though. Someone recommended I give it another shot! I'm glad I did! I had the best pork chop ever! It was so tender inside and the crust was perfect! It's hard to find good pork chops! The flavor of the entire meal was really on point! My husband ordered the schnitzel meal which was also amazing but I highly recommend the pork chops, green beans and potatoes! They also have a great dirty martini!
Went in for late lunch with the folks. Great atmosphere, was not very busy, excellent music Playlist. Our server was amazing, noted my parents spoke Russian. The Jalapeño cheese curds were ok, the pork belly was on point and tasty! My mother ordered the wrap; my father and I ordered the cowboy burger. They were very good!
We discovered this hidden gem on a whim, and we are sure glad that we did. The food was great , we started with the cola glazed pork belly and the brie bites with hot hiney, and both were fantastic. The glaze on the pork was amazing, it paired quite well with brie bites. Onto the main course, I had the Oso Bucco, which was perfectly tendered with an amazing demi glace. My wife and SIL shared the Delmonico 20oz, which was topped with crab. The steak was a perfect medium rare with a great seasoned char; however, the crab topping was a bit onion forward for the pairing. It tasted like it'd be an amazing crab cake; however, as a cool topping on the steak, it didn't synergize as we would have hoped. As for the sides, the potatoes were phenomenal, and the macaroni n cheese was creamy, rich, and delicious. This also received very high marks from my toddler, who knows her Mac n cheese. Onto the dessert, we had the buttermilk cream pie, and it was balanced sweet/savory, not feeling overwhelmed with either. It was a nice pairing to end the dinner with the delicious meats from earlier. The bartender was also on point last night, and the cocktails were balanced and delicious. The menu leaned towards a whiskey/bourbon focus, which we appreciated. Service was good. Although they were understaffed, they did their absolute best to make you feel acknowledged and seen, though a little slower than ideal. We spoke with the chef as he was walking around, and he was really nice and checking in on everyone and helping the tables as he could. All in all, we'll definitely be coming back and trying more of the menu
Really neat restaurant. Their menu has so many good choices. I loved the atmosphere. It was a little loud, but overall a great place for dinner. I only gave 4 stars because they were out of so many food items by the time we were seated. Also, expect a long wait.
What a great place! Wonderful food and some of the friendliest staff around. All smiles and great service. Never bothering or hovering but there when needed. Got a burger and sweet potato fries. Best sauce with the fries I've ever had. Check out this wonderful restaurant in downtown Cartersville, GA!
Absolutely wonderful. Quite the pleasant surprise after walking down a staircase. The wood accents and dark tones set an enjoyable smooth relaxing ambiance. The menu is small but everything is delicious. The food is different and intentionally crafted with care. The fish and chips melts in your mouth with a buttery smooth brown sugar dip for the fries. Would recommend to anyone in the area
