My wife and I went here after a visit to the Tellus Science Museum with our niece and we were very happy with our choice. I got the roast beef grilled cheese with sautéed onions and peppers and my wife got the chicken salad on a croissant. It was about 30 minutes before closing on a Friday afternoon, so I was concerned they’d all be ready to leave. But you could tell that they really care about the quality of their sandwiches and ingredients. My only regret was that I didn’t try a bowl of their homemade soup. If we’re ever back in Cartersville, we will define try this place again.
This was a great place to get together with several old friends. You order at the register, great when everyone pays individually, and then food is brought to the table for you. The lady that took our order was very friendly and helpful with all our questions and even let me sample the jalapeno coleslaw to see if I thought it was to spicy. I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant. The chicken salad is great but the croissant is kinda dense and the bottom was hard. The jalapeno coleslaw is creamy, fresh and has a great flavor without being to spicy. evidently this can vary depending on the person that prepares that's why she was happy to let me taste it first, which I think was excellent customer service! The 2 fresh pickle slices they serve with the sandwich are fantastic and I wish I had gone back to get some to take home with me. I also tried the sweet potato tots and they're crispy, flavorful, not sweet, and were hot fresh out of the fryer. I highly recommend trying them plus they give you a big serving of them! I tried the fresh cut French fries too and they were hot fresh out of the fryer and just needed more salt in my opinion. I highly recommend this place and also enjoyed walking around going through the shops in the square too.
Love this place. I was in town for a long business trip and found this gem in town. Favorite place to go for lunch.Food: 5/5
The food is a little better than average, but not spectacular. This feels like a place to socialize rather than simply eat. It's almost a little too cute that it lacks much personality. It has all the typical folksy ambiance chalkboard menus, wood floors, mural, etc but it's missing something that I cannot put my finger on. Maybe it's a local place and I just don't understand.
Where do I start? We were looking for a family lunch spot on a Saturday in between soccer games. Swheat Market is wonderful. Fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Burgers, cuban sandwich, salads, soups all great. The sides are also excellent. Onion rings, fried pickles just lots of care and quality goes into everything on the menu. Fresh pickles on the side as well. Oh and the banana pudding. 4 of us shared it. To top it off, the people taking your orders are just so friendly. Great location. It does get crowded after 12. I highly recommend for a can't miss lunch.
On Sunday 1 pm, it took them 50 minutes to bring out a straightforward 2-hot-sandwich order. The staff just shrugged that off with 'we are busy and just one guy operates the grill' comment. The food was pretty good, but I did not expect ice-cold sliced tomatoes in my burger.Food: 4/5
Didn’t this place start out as a health food grocer/restaurant? Well it is anything but that now! I was there for lunch very nice pleasant lady on the cash register. I had the Brunswick stew very good- that was what the 2 stars were for the -3 stars but should be -10 was for what they called a roast beef provolone sandwich. The “Roast Beef” looked like what you would scrape off of a cutting board after you cut slices from a brisket! And a BRISKET- although beef - is NOT what some one expects when ordering a roast beef sand which and definitely not little chips of beef. I guess it was thrown on the grill to heat it up With oil- it was probably the worst restaurant sandwich I have ever had in my life-greasy and tasteless! I asked for the horseradish sauce on the side be clause I thought it would be hit and sharp- which is what horseradish is. It tasted old- pretty much all the hit and sharp was long gone. I haven’t been to this place in quite awhile as I am never downtown but will not be back. Going out is a treat and this was anything but that!
Had a delicious cheeseburger with pimento cheese and amazing tots. My friend had a sandwich that she loved. However, terrible service from a nice waitress who was working as fast and hard as she could. Trouble is that there’s not enough staff to meet demand here. Waited an hour for the food, it came out wrong, and ultimately I had to go get my own pie after asking for it more than once. I just can’t recommend the place.
We ate here for the first time and loved it! The only issue was we waited for an hour in line to order and then waited another hour for our food. The food was delicious though and the owner was extremely nice. While I was standing in line to order my husband went to get us a table since it was busy and one of the waitresses walked by and told him he wasn’t allowed to sit there because we hadn’t ordered yet even though I was next in line to order. She was very rude and unprofessional. I ordered the BLT and sweet potato fries. Everything was amazing. The bacon was crispy and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato fries were perfect and amazing. Even though we loved the food I’m not sure we would go back just because the traffic was horrible downtown and we had to wait so long to order and to get our food.
This was our second visit to Swheat Market. Very busy, long line to order for lunch but progressed pretty quickly and the wait time for our food was not bad! Both visits the food has been fresh and delicious. Looking around all the food looked very appetizing. Very happy with our sandwiches, sweet potato tots and chicken & rice soup! Will definitely go back and recommend to friends.
