I was traveling and found this great place to eat. Good portions reasonably priced. It was great atmosphere. Please remind me of a restaurant up north. A restaurant that's been around for a long time that's the feeling I get when I go to Clarks. I had a young waitress that needed some more training but still did a good job.

Clark's Restaurant is located inside the Clark's Hotel in Santee SC. The restaurant has several rooms each with a fire place. The food selection is mostly Southern comfort food including lunch/ dinner, sandwiches, soup and salads. The staff is friendly and helpful. You never feel rushed. There is a lovely gift shop next to the dining area. It is well stocked with Holiday items.

We found this restaurant to be a very nice setting with very good food. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service was friendly and attentive. The fried chicken was very good. The pork loin was tender and flavorful. The entire evening was a treat for us. A shame we were too full for desert. I did not find the pricing to be out of line with other meals I've had. Considering the menu variety i found the pricing was reasonable.

We had a large group of 20 people at a long table in banquet room. One side of table had a fantastic waitress! However, the other side rarely saw their waitress. Food was okay, but not fantastic! Not sure if this was because of our large group or restaurant in general!

Mediocre food. Clark's capitalizes on its ambience and highway access but repeatedly disappoints with its food and its treatment of minorities as second class citizens.
We sat in the main dining room (very nice), and one meal (fried oysters) and all of the sides, were clearly sitting for some time as they were served room temperature. There is a major disconnect between how the floor and kitchen are managed.
Regarding minorities, I get this is the south, but the fact that Clarks relics African Americans to bus boy staff as opposed to wait staff and sales staff is unacceptable.
I've been coming to Clarks annually for six years and will no longer be coming back.
