In Columbia for the day and heard about Basil Thai in the Charleston area, so we gave it a go.

Hostess was grumpy. Was pushing us out the door. Ordered to go. Ordered Pad Thai and green curry. Smallest portioned Thai food (making it very overpriced), egg shells in the Pad Thai, and nothing special. Have never had Pad Thai made with little spaghetti rice noodles before. 

Thai Spice in West Ashley blows this place out of the water. One of the least tasty Thai places I've eaten at.

I was fortunate enough to find
“Basil Thai” Restaurant
702 Cross Hill Road
Garners Ferry
Columbia, South Carolina
after a positive review in my local paper.
I was greeted at the door and requested seating at the bar. My lucky day that Aaron was bartending. Customers around me were enjoying Martini’s so after moving here from Chicago and not being able to find a good 
Lemon Drop Martini, I figured it was evident that I try Aaron’s confident manner in ordering this drink.
It was Delicious🍸.
He also recommended a fine wine for dinner after asking me a couple questions and his choice of Malbac’s was Perfect.
What a Great employee that could multi-task as he had a full bar but kept everyone enjoying his talents.

After a year absence due to a move, I was greeted by Aaron and Susan by name like i had just visited the restaurant. Susan remembered my name and my occupation. Amazing.
Although the food is excellent this personal attribute is Very Special.
I wish I could review the menu choices but the Pad Thai is so good that I order the same entree every time even though  Aaron kindly explains the other choices. 
Susan the GM went out of her way to bring me a special tea that they serve at the restaurant.
You guys are the Best.

Food was fantastic!  Sue and Susan were so friendly and welcoming, they made this Flint,MI boy feel like family!  I'll definitely be back!
Oh, having River Rat Amber isn't hurting them either ❤️
