Horrible this place is horrible no one likes Court nobody tries to go to court especially after they miss their court date so you figure when someone is there that works and their job keeps them out of town so they're never home so they come on a rainy day when they get a chance to come and they still will not let you go to court because you were 10 minutes past and we all know the judge wasn't even in there people were still coming in people ought to be ashamed
No one likes to go to court. I was having a seizure and they were very helpful to my wife and I. Judge was very understanding.
Well. In my time in the main lobby. It was horrible. Long waits ... postponing .. I love to waste my time ! And my time upstairs was great . The cos were nice ... the one man cells were very tiny. As well as the trays. I love to suffer ! All in all. I will definitely be going back as soon as possible !
I attempted to take an individual to small claims court. I live 3 1/2 hours away in Clay County NC. I contacted Cleveland County Clerk of Superior court to verify the address on the defendant to make sure I was filing paperwork in the correct county. I called the Clerk of Court office confirmed the address was in Cleveland County and completed the paperwork with the assistance of Assistant CSC Lisa Phillips. She gave me a court date and time. My wife and I got up at 5:00 in the morning to make sure we had enough time to get there. We arrived thirty minutes early. The first name the magistrate called was me. She then said “you are in the wrong county “. I immediately went to the clerk of court office expressed my disbelief and asked for my court fees to be refunded. I was told NO. That is was my mistake that I filed in the wrong county by the same person that confirmed the address was in Cleveland County. The irony is the court house street address is Justice Place where there is obviously no justice.
I attempted to make contact with someone at the courthouse, by phone, during the time that the courthouse had closed due to covid. I called for two weeks and received the same recorded message that no one was available to take my call, nor could I leave a message and have someone return my call. I finally put something in writing and mailed it in. I received a response from that. The response came from Lisa P., who was extremely rude, abrupt and appeared to be agitated that she even had to deal with me. I asked one question in my letter, which she couldn't answer. She did promise to find out the answer and call me back the following week, which she did. Once again, she was rude, abrupt and appeared agitated. I addressed this fact and she made no attempt to change her behavior or apologize. I understand that working for and with the public can be a draining and distressing job, but if one chooses to go into public service work, the job should be done, if at all possible, with politeness, kindness, good manners and professionalism. Lisa possessed none of these qualities in either of our phone conversations. I guess I simply expect too much when I expect our professionals to be, well...professional. I hope this will be my last dealing with the Shelby County Courthouse.
There are some of the rudest people from the Clerk's office to the DA's secretary! If you don't like working in the court system you should find another job. People are innocent until proven guily and they deserve a little respect!
This is rediculous I have tried 4 different days 2-3 times each day and no one except a recording from Misty Johnson answers you can choose any key they say and never get an answer!!!! They need to answer their phones at the courthouse
You cannot bring your phone inside due to order of the court. Save yourself a trip back to your car
Trying to deal with these people is a nightmare. We need new people in office. I tried calling them about a week ago, and got not a message to wait on hold and deal with an extended wait time, but an automated message to call back later. Call back later, and the same thing happens. A week passes and I call the number listed, and I get a message that the number is disconnected or no longer in service. So I guess anyone that has business with the court house has no other choice but to go down there in person, and hope their experience in doing that isn't worse than it is in calling. The people running this place need to be fired if they can't do any better job than that.
All the store are very safe and has everything and not too crowded
