Took some clothes plus a basically brand new Michael Kors purse in. They offered me $7 for a purse that’s in perfect condition and currently retails for $178+tax. They had comparable purses on sale in the store for $110+ so they were essentially going to make $100 and rip me off. I have no words, I wasn’t expecting even half retail but I figured I would at least get a somewhat reasonable offer. I will never do business at any Clothes Mentor ever again.

I wouldn’t suggest selling clothes there. I brought in designer jeans, dresses, skirts, and purses. They bought my Seven for All Mankind Jeans and a J.Crew skirt and offered me $19... they’re both in perfect condition, I never wore them because they were just too large for me. They say they offer around 1/3 of the value price when that is simply not the case

This place offers next to nothing for designer items but then sells them for almost what you could buy them new. Its like they are trying to be some specialty boutique but forget they are a consignment store.. I’ve taken “business casual” and women’s clothes there and they haven’t taken them but they’ve bought my junior brands, and of course my Lilly Pulitzer, I’m just confused as to the demographic they are gearing their inventory toward, I thought it was working women. Anyway, I’ve also witnessed the manager be incredibly rude and condescending to her employees in front of customers which is really awkward, she could use a lesson in professionalism and how to treat people.

I have been shopping at Clothes Mentor for about 3 years in three different cities, Columbia SC, Rock Hill SC and here in Wilmington. I was so very disappointed in the Wilmington store.  Never have I experienced such rude employees at a Clothes Mentor store. They were dismissive of me in general, I am not sure if it is because I didn’t look good enough for them, or possibly they felt I was too old to be there, whatever it was, I was not their target audience. I probably didn’t look wealthy enough, which is too bad for this CM store, I buy all the time at second hand stores. I brought in clothes that were no more than 15 months old and were told they were not “the right thing” for their store. I find this interesting as most everything came from Belk, I worked there the Christmas of 2016 and bought way too much stuff. So I have high end name brand stuff in sizes 6-8 and it’s not right? Or maybe you need to be kind to those who bring clothes in. They actually told me to wash a pair of pants I had never worn!  I will not be back, no reason to slum it in the bad part of town.

We drove from Leland into the store and tried to sell them some clothes. I Hated how they told my wife they would txt her when they decided how much to pay. We drove back in that night after they sent a text to come get the payoff. They actually didn't want the clothes but the txt was computer generated. SO SORRY WE CAN'T HELP THAT!!!
