Colonial Masonry represents what is "right" about general contractors. They have done a significant amount of work to our brownstone in the South End in Boston and the quality of the work has been exceptional. They are also very very very responsive and timely. If they say 10AM on Monday...they will be there at 10AM on Monday. The owner of the company (Joe) is also a delight to work with and represents a honest face in a business that could use more lilke him. We have also used him for fine carpentry work on a bathroom renovation in our condo and the work was incredibly detailed and really well done. 
We would reccomend that you take a look at Colonial Masonry for your brownstone masonry renovation, stairs, or rough/fine carpentry work. You will like what you see and get as a result.
