Had a great stay.  Note that this hotel JUST (Jan 2018) underwent a massive renovation and is effectively brand new and very nice.  Most reviews seem to be of the old hotel.  The staff was great (allowing an early check in by a couple hours and calling as soon as our room was ready!) and the prices very reasonable for the room size and quality.  Valet prices seemed steep until I drove around- it's on par with all the garages in a couple block radius and there's not really any street parking to be found here.

Room service food was not great and served in takeout containers rather than a tray, that could use some work but I'll give them a break because it's brand new.

The room was a suite, which was nice. The noise from the elevator was way too loud in the room, water leaked from the shower all over the floor. The front desk staff was dismissive. The food in the restaurant was bad.

I am very happy with my decision to stay at The Commonwealth during my time in Richmond over the weekend. The hotel has been recently rennovated and it looks excellent. The room was very clean and the customer service was great. It's in a great location in the downtown area.

We had a breakfast meeting there. The event was done superbly. Food was excellent.

Loved this hotel it has been renovated and the room is spacious and beautiful.  The customer service was great, would definitely recommend this place.
