Story

Communal Kitchen is a lively community gathering place, serving local food, small production wines, and hand crafted cocktails.

Chef and owner Jed Gidaly draws his inspiration from the seasons using local and organic products from the Hudson Valley Region. The food is always original, recognizable, comfortable in nature and global in inspiration, with an innovative twist. Our menu is complemented by unique wine offerings by the glass. We feature small production and organic wines from local vineyards and small emerging wineries from around the world.

The bar is an energetic and welcoming spot where friends eat and drink together. Our master mixers will help guide you. Cocktails are hand crafted using only the freshest ingredients as well as small batch liquors and our own barrel aged blends. A well designed selection of local craft beers on draft change seasonally.

We look forward to welcoming you to our community.

Looks like a little hipster place. Small, with nice decor. The seats are very small and high, my only semi complaint. Once you're drunk enough, you forget how small they are. The service was great, server was knowledgeable on the specials and the menu. Down the the nitty gritty: The food. It was amazing. I don't eat meat so I ate only veggie plates, but boy was I impressed. They even have their own little garden of herbs out front that they pick from. Price are on the higher side, but you get pretty large portions.

Delicious starters, tasty entrees, and friendly service. The cauliflower and roasted carrots were delicious, and the Brussels sprouts were incredible! Go with a group to be able to try a bunch of their small plates for the full experience.

A wonderful bar with attentive and memorable staff. Yes it's a little more expensive than the surrounding bars but a good portion of those bars are for 20 something's to get trashed at on the weekends. You pay a little more but you also get a little more, it's worth every penny. The foods a head above and the bar tenders know what they're doing, what more can you ask for.

Went here on a day trip after spending the afternoon at the Botanical Gardens - it's on the way back home if you're driving back to the Hudson Valley. Great spot. Love it. A nice waiter told my husband his hair Is Everything which is I guess something nice the kids are saying these days. The ambiance is excellent, the food is exceptional, and the staff is amazing. We had the brisket burger and the poutine. Excellent across the board.
