I stayed at Congress Hall for a night back in April 2016.  I was there for a conference in Cape May and conveniently booked this location by the shore.  Because of the conference I didn't have much time to enjoy the beach.  That said, I was pleasantly pleased with my experience, stay, the friendly staff, parking, and quick location to the shore.  Next time, I'll have to bring the family!  Again, I has there in April and I have no idea what parking is like in the summer, but, they have reserved parking, so, doubt it's a problem.

The pool and front yard are beautiful.  We took some drinks out and played cornhole before dinner.  Inside bar was crowded pretty no matter what time it was, but we never had an issue being served.  Had breakfast at the restaurant at the bottom of the hotel and it was one of the best breakfast we've ever had.  Room was clean but we had an awful view of some industrial unit.  Bathroom was almost as big as the bed area!  Staff was friendly and helpful.  Caters to an older more affluent crowd. We may not stay again but we'll definitely come back for food and drinks.  

Update: came back in season and the hostess at Blue Pig Tavern was the most unpleasant person I've ever encountered in Cape May. I brought guests with me to experience what I think is an amazing brunch and now I'm unsure if I'll return.  Waitress was awesome but still left with a bad taste in my mouth from the hostess.

Upscale historical hotel located across from the beach in cape may .make sure you visit the brown room bar with fireplace which is considered the living room of Cape May  The blue pig restaurant is a favorite for breakfast or dinner with local farm fresh ingredients  the boiler room in the basement is a lively venue with local live entertainment. This is an old refurbished upscale hotel your floors in your rooms may be uneven or fixtures dated but all original which adds to the worldly feel of this unique property experience

Danced to the best band - the Smooth Edge Band - out of Philly! Never stopped to their funk!!! After an entire season in Cape May, working for room & board (and, of course, the beach), penniless pockets prevented my stepping out (ten bucks for a Chardonnay?!? I mean)....

During my earlier stroll through the very very historical, extremely well appointed and tastefully decorated wayyy wayyy pricey Congress Hall, I entered The Boiler Room, and noted - joyously - that the guys setting up included not one white guy. Lock and load - home to change to better shoes. 

When the show ended, what followed was a chance meeting with an interesting individual on the outside steps to The Boiler Room. 

The ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ relate to that.

Great place to stay off season. Enjoy a drink in the Brown Room, grab a bite to eat the Blue Pig. Across the street from the ocean and shopping Mall.
