I love the concept, the store is a little sparse, but I guess not many smaller novelty and gift items are made in Connecticut these days.

Staff are helpful and knowledgeable, but tend to lay the service on you pretty immediately - better to let customers know to a skid they need anything and let them linger. That's my preference anyway.

I want to give it a higher star rating, but, not there yet.

I went to this store looking for things that are inherently "Connecticut", as I was travelling out of the country to visit my fiancé's family in Germany.  I wanted them to know a little bit about where I come from, and this store served that perfectly.  I bought a couple of pewter products that were made here in CT, as well as jam made from berries grown here, and Liberty Candles, which are like Yankee candles, but made here.

The store did not have a vast selection of candles, but he assured me that, since I made the trip, he would have the candles shipped to my home at no charge for shipping.  Even though he took my order later in the day, I was quite surprised when the candles arrived the very next day!!!  They smelled lovely, and everything I bought from the Connecticut store was great.  I really appreciated the level of service that they provided--the gentleman there when out of his way to see to it that my candles would arrive in time for my trip.  Can't ask for more than that!
