The gentlemen who came to install the siding "Brian", and his son-in-law, would argue constantly and make excuses why they could not accommodate even simple requests. When he installed the mounting plate for an outside porch light at an angle, partially on the window trim and partly on the siding, I was told that the wire was not long enough to center the light properly on the wall. Instead of removing some of the older insulating material that was under the aluminum siding, Brian placed the new vinyl siding over top of it, causing all of the corner posts to extend beyond the roof line, exposing their tops to the elements. After the first rain, the styrofoam core slid down and protruded from the bottom of (2) posts. When I told Brian that the corner posts were designed to be slightly recessed and under the roof line he said nothing could be done because of the old insulation on the house, but "at least your house is double insulated." I called Skip Conrey repeatedly as he was never present when any of the work was being completed. I later discovered that he was out of state working on developing a solar water heating project while his subcontractors were working on my house. After several calls expressing my frustration with the quality of his subcontractor's work, Skip eventually showed up. Upon looking at the work he said, "I see several things that I don't like, asked what I wanted fixed, and addressed the exposed posts by having a worker place pieces of bent aluminum on top of them with caulk." Within six months of completion, portions of the siding had pulled away from each side of the house, pieces of the material used to cover the deck overhang blew off, and some of the aluminum stock used to trim the exterior windows was loose. My wife and I worry every time a strong wind or storm blows through the neighborhood. When the young man arrived to install the windows, he became involved in a profanity laced dispute with the siding contractor over who was supposed to trim the outside of the windows. This occurred in front of my wife. I noted that after the window installers left, several pieces of the interior trim were cut short and I could feel wind coming through the gap. I pulled a piece of the trim off to discover that the installer did not place any insulation (or low expansion foam) around the windows. When I called Skip to let him know he responded, "I am tired of hearing that, the best insulator is wood." When I told him that some of the trim pieces were cut short and that I was going to eventually need to remove all of the trim, recut the short pieces, and properly insulate the windows he said "that was my option." One window was installed so tightly that my wife is unable to open it fully. Several caulk lines around the interior windows, and the exterior siding, has already cracked and will need to be redone. During Skips initial sales visit we selected windows with a tilt feature to avoid needing a ladder to clean them from the outside as the terrain outside of the living room window is not level and difficult to stabilize a ladder. After the order had been placed and the contract approved, Skip called to say that the living room window was too large and Alside Company did not offer the tilt feature for that size window. We eventually had to accept a solid pane window which requires me to go outside and try to level a ladder, working around hedges, and a castle rock wall, to clean this window from the outside. When my next door neighbor came home, she discovered that the roofing subcontractors that Skip hired had tossed debris in her yard and had plugged into her outside electrical outlet. All of my outside receptacles were being used for their roofing equipment, so they accessed my neighbor's electric (without her permission) to plug in their radio to play music. Skip was absent throughout the process, hired subpar employees, and accepted mediocre work. We will not be using Conrey Construction for any other jobs, now or in the future.

These folks put a new roof on our house and garage. They are amazing! They were here early in the morning ---- removed old roofing material, replaced with all the new (our wood under it all was in great shape and didn't need replacing) --- AND when they were finished (same day), you honestly couldn't tell they were here except to see the new roofs...property was THAT clean! Nothing laying around, NO trash, NO nails, nothing. Thanks SO much guys! You are true professionals. Now I LOVE to hear the rain on the roof :o)
