For someone like me who works all the time, the service is horrible. I've sent emails and called but no one replies to my emails or answer the phone. I have questions before I take time to go to their office and waste my time but I guess I am going to have to just do that in order to get my questions answered.

After going through such an experience with our lovely Salvadorian Consulate I now understand why our country is in such a financial state. We are so behind in technology to the point that in order to make an appointment you will have to wake up at 5 a.m and HOPE that you can get a response over the phone (mind you the call you will be making will be to an office in El Salvador), most of the time they do not pick up, numbers that they give out as the resources to call in El Salvador for a service such as obtaining a birth certificate will send you a COPY only to find that the Houston consulate might or might not take it depending on who is at the window since you need an actual certificate and not just a copy. This place is run as if it were 1979 again. 

El consulado Salvadoreno esta muy atrasado cuando se trata de tecnologia, sincera mente es triste ver que tan atrasados estamos, quizas sea esa la razon por la cual el paiz se encuentra en la situacion actual. Para hacer una simple cita con el consulado en Houston tendras que rezar unas cuantas Ave Marias, levantarte a las 5 de la manana y rogar que te contesten desde El Salvador. Este establesimiento se conduce come si aun estuvieramos en 1979.

This is why our countries are not taken seriously. Places likes these make me embarrassed to have the flag of my country waving outside. Place is so back traced, the staff is extremely rude, they lost my information, took hours to retrieve it, i have no idea what is going on but they treat you like you are begging for service when our taxes, and money we send to El Salvador is probably what pays their salaries. Staff please, take a damn seat back and locate yourself, you cannot even complete me a passport.

Don't pay attention, don't respond any calls to make an appointment. No service is the worst👎.

Service has improve and it’s faster than before and really organize.  I went to renew my passport and I didn’t require to have any additional documents ( they used to ask for a recent birth certificate) overall a good experience .
