The bagels still taste good, but the place used to have such amazing neighborhood charm, and now it’s all gone. The poster board of neighborhood events - gone. The day old baked goods for a dollar - gone. Peter and his group of friendly and familiar employees - gone. The new place is perfectly sanitized - like something you’d find in Manhattan. I genuinely wonder - who asked for this?
Amazing bagels! Got the salmon and cream cheese bagel and all the flavours were well balanced. Good ratio of salmon to cream cheese for me. Hefty portion size and I devoured the whole thing it was so good. Quite pricey but worth it once in a while coming in at $18 for one bagel. The gentleman serving me was the most delightful man I’ve ever met and made the experience there so special! He’s an absolute gem and I swear his outstanding service legitimately made the food taste even better. Don’t be fooled by the decor, this place is worth the stop.
Best bagels I’ve every had in my life!!!!! And I’ve had plentyyy in Canada and the US. I came in the summer of 2022 and was amazed, so I came back on my next trip in 2023, and the bagels were just as great! The staff has always been so kind and accommodating and Peter is the sweetest, most welcoming man who makes you feel like family the second you step in. Do yourself a favour and go get a bagel there! My favourite is the sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese and lox.
Delicious! By far the best bagel dough I tried - it was so crunchy and full of flavors. When you have great ingredients, it doesn’t take much to make something delicious. I took a basic bagel with cream cheese and chives but it was the best I’ve tried in a long time. It was so good that I didn’t even have time to take a picture!Food: 5/5
while the food was good a little too salty, the customer service really threw us off. the cashier basically made fun of us for our choice of cream cheese and didn’t really answer our questions. the total was also much higher than the listed menu price. the owner seems much nicer though.
This is the friendliest neighborhood bagel joint I've seen, and the food's good too. I get breakfast from them at least a couple of times a month and I've never been disappointed. There is a good reason why the line often stretches down the block. Only odd thing is that they offer to toast bagels by default, which I thought bagel purists say should only be done to old ones, not fresh ones. No matter though, as they're happy to prepare orders however the customer wants. Really. I recently overheard someone order a sausage egg and cheese on cinnamon-raisin. Note that they only accept cash. EDIT: I have started to ask them to go easy on the cream cheese since the default amount is way more than I can comfortably eat in a sitting.
Great neighborhood spot, friendly and high quality. Now accepts cards.Food: 5/5
What can I say…it came recommended by a local and was full of Brooklyn locals. Counter staff were attentive and efficient. Bagels were brilliant!Food: 5/5
I need to visit Court Street Bagel every time I am visiting Brooklyn. It is always the first stop when I arrive and the last stop before I return home. The staff are not only efficient, but also incredibly friendly and welcoming. As for the food, the bagels were hands down the best I've had in Cobble Hill - perfectly chewy with just the right amount of crust. But the real star of the show were the sandwiches - generously piled high with delicious toppings and spreads. I left feeling absolutely stuffed and completely satisfied. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Court Street Bagel - you won't regret it! Five stars all the way. **Be ready with some cash as it's cash only.
Don't be fooled by the high rating, that's the work of the PREVIOUS OWNER and the new ones are coasting off the coattails. I used to come here regularly, and would buy dozens of bagels to bring to friends/family across the country when I travel. No more after Peter no longer runs this place and the new management decided to change up the bagels to be smaller, increase the price, decrease the quality, and to be stingy with the cream cheese. Go elsewhere, the bagels you are looking for are not here.
