The food was perfect. The service was perfect. My company had the sampler platter that allows you a little of all the popular foods. I had a salad and the bake potato. I love the travel shop built into the restaurant and think the home style nature of this chain is what keeps it alive. A bus group arrived while we were eating and you would think that would spell disastrous dining but it didn't have one effect on the evening. They handle the small crowds as well as the larger crowd. Great place, if you haven't been to one these, you should go.

I love this place. You can't beat the lunch specials and the service is always warm and personal. Such a comfort all the southern hospitality here! Oh and when you're done eating, pass through the shop and pick up some candy you haven't seen in years! Such a treat.

On our way back to Florida we decided to st op at Cracker Barrel. I ordered a hamburger steak cooked medium. I was served my meal last, I assume because it was cooked to order. However, when they sent it out it was well done, I told the waitress I wasn't trying to be a pain but the meat was just too dry. She said she understood and took it back. When it came out the second time, a manager brought it and as I cut into it, we both said "it's still well done". He apologized and took it back once again.  About 20 minutes later, after everyone had finished their meals, the waitress brought one out and though it wasn't exactly medium, I told her it was fine and she apologized profusely (not her fault). One of my nieces had the chicken pot pie that was one of the specials of the day. The waitress did tell her it was the last once. My niece said it was "very dry but pretty good".  My brother had the catfish, which he said was ok. My son had breakfast, which he said was awesome. We will definitely come back as I have had many good meals here. that day just must have been an "off day" for the cook!"

Ok first of all I really liked their food... everything was delicious... grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and dumplings were delicious... I am giving 4 stars though because they have problem with the service... we were a big party of 8 people and we had been waiting for over 30 minutes to get our food... it wasn’t a huge deal the waiting for me but by the time they bring our food everything were kinda cold... pretty much the taste was awesome you could feel that but it was a shame that the plates were cold... I am pretty sad to give 4 stars because I liked everything in this place... if they can fix a little the place it would be awesome...

Cracker Barrell has always been a wonderful place for good comfort food for many years.  It was a huge disappointment.  I don't know what was wrong.  Everything tasted old & reheated.  But I won't give up.  It will get better.  I've got confidence in the icon that it has always been.
