On the way to Indian Trail, we've ridden by Cracker Barrel on more than occasion. This morning a friend of mine suggested that we stop this morning and have breakfast. I've seen the restaurants regularly during my travels, but had never actually taken the time to stop in and eat. Even though I was fortunate enough to have eaten from their dinner menu before. Just a brief sidebar; I am a Marine veteran and a few years ago while I was recovering from surgery, my county VA rep had given them my name around Christmas time, I believe and someone else gave me a ride to the Cracker Barrel and they gave me multiple packages for the most amazing holiday meals. There was at least enough food for 10 people. I've never had the opportunity before, until now, too thank them for that most amazing meal in a public forum...until now. And they deserve my thanks for this. It was a fantastic gesture that arrived at just the perfect time. There were a number of other veterans that also received these meals at no cost whatsoever. Back to my review and photographs of this particular Cracker Barrel. Amanda was our hostess today and did an outstanding job. The restaurant was absolutely slammed and they were taking reservations at the hostess stand. A very professional and courteous young lady, who kept the crowds moving seamlessly along with the rest of the staff. If you've never been...go, you will not be disappointed. Everything is extremely well-maintained and sanitized in between guests. All areas are handicap accessible. Even before entering the restaurant itself, you'll see dozens of rocking chairs to relax in, either before...or after your meal, if the need arises. The decor is strictly country store, from a bygone era. Country antiques abound, throughout the exterior, as well as the interior of the restaurant. When you entered the building itself, it was almost like walking back in time to a local country store. Old fashioned candies and books from a bygone era. Clothing, gifts and almost anything else imagineable. I'll close for now and let my plethora of pictures speak for themselves. If you took the time to read this review, please take a 1/2 second and click like. Thank you.
I’ve come here pretty often but this time around wasn’t the best. I asked for light cheese in egg white scramble and was so much cheese barely could find enough eggs to eat. The turkey sausage was cooked hard and nothing fluffy abt the one pancake I ordered on the side. The waitress was extremely friendly so that made the experience not as bad as it could have been. However the fruit was extremely fresh and sweet and so were the tomatoes.
Working at a busy car dealership just doors away from the location - I tried to place an order online. Problem #1 - you can't pay with a Cracker Barrel gift card online. Problem #2 - tried to call in the order, can't get anyone on the phone during the week of Christmas. Problem #3 - went to the location, sat for 20 minutes before the person at the hostess desk even offered to take my order. Placed an order and waited another 20 minutes for it to be done. MAIN PROBLEM #4 - got back to work to realize I am missing one of my impossible sausage orders, missing a sausage biscuit and the eggs were so wet & runny they were not edible. Sent a coworker back to get the order corrected - was told the sausage biscuit meat patty was in the same container as the impossible sausage - why would that be done? A person who does not eat meat does not want their plant based patty mixed with an actual meat patty!!! And why was the biscuit not made as it was ordered?? This was by far the worse 1st experience I've ever had & I will be sure to NEVER order from this location again & let all my coworkers know that as well! Vegetarian options: They mixed plant based meat with real meat
No wait. Waitress was quick to get our drinks and take our order. Food came out fast and was good. The shrimp were a little over cooked but edible. Saturday special pork chop was good.
Where do I start, we'll let's start with the following day of Thanksgiving 2022. My out of town family wanted to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. During our visit we discovered that the cooks obviously needed to attend culinary school. The food wasn't prepared The way it should've been. They brought out egg and sausage way earlier than the rest that came with the meal. The waitress was very professional and understood the issues that we experienced. They cleared the tab and gave us two free meal vouchers. Two nights later we went back just to discover the exact same thing. The cooks couldn't cook a well done steak. The waitress that waited on our table disappeared and never returned. So I had to request for a new waitress. There's more to add but the moral of this ordeal is that we will never, ever be going back to this Cracker Barrel again. They really shouldn't be opened with no better service that they have to offer. Send the cooks to culinary school or shut the doors till they can do better.
"Cracker Barrel" odd name, but the food is on point. Had a late evening craving for some pancakes. Figured why not get some fish too grilled rainbow trout‍.. Pancakes !
Who doesn't like going to Cracker Barrel?! Every time I go it brings back memories of my travels. You can get hot or cold tea here. The only thing I didn't like was they stopped serving the fried catfish That was the main reason I went there. They have replaced it with fried cod and trout. The fried cod was only available at night so I had to settle for grilled trout. It was good. I noticed that there portions of the sides are a little smaller. After we ate we hit the store. My son got his usual candy sticks. I picked up some Christmas decorations and presents.I love looking at all of their seasonal items. Overall the visit was good
What happened at this store? There are obviously staffing/training and kitchen issues here. First we ordered the “loaded tater tot” appetizer. The tater tots were good, but the cheese and bacon bits were cold and simply heaped on them. Some salamander time would have helped. We ordered two “chicken fried chicken” plates with 3 sides each We were informed that your signature hash brown casserole “was out” - what? And right before your dinner rush? We had to ask for biscuits - another signature item. We were then informed black berry jam “was out”, and then had to ask for bread plates - or eat the biscuits off the table until the entrees arrived, The chicken arrived, but was bland. One chicken breast had no gravy, the other a table spoon or so. We had to ask for a side of sawmill gravy to help. My side of grits was watery, and not fully cooked with a sand-like quality, We were not offered dessert but asked for pieces of the “chocolate pecan” and “apple strudel pie” both with advertised ice cream. We got a slice of the chocolate pie, but also an unordered peach cobbler. Neither had ice cream. After a few minutes we got the Apple pie with ice cream, but had to ask about the ice cream for the pecan pie. It arrived on a bread plate. No fresh silverware with the desserts. We saw only one other occupied table in our waitresses zone. Nearby tables were piled with unbussed small wares and utensils.the waitress said she was having an “ off day”. Sorry to hear that but she made “ her problem” into “ our problem” AND we had to pay for it. We were not offered refills nor cup drinks to go. We’ve already reported this disaster on your web site.
I hadn’t been to a Craxker Barrel in years and was so disappointed. We were seated promptly and our order was taken. And then we waited, and waited, for our food. Finally everybody was served at once! My meal was lukewarm and the grilled cheese sandwich had melted cheese that had hardened. I would normally have sent it back but we had already waited for ages. My French fries were barely edible because they were almost cold. Seriously, they have to do better. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. The kitchen was appalling.
They brought my food out with out the gravy for my chicken and when it did come out it was cold. Got a take out plate for my husband for work and he said the meatloaf was horrible . On a positive note my waitress was wonderful trying to accommodate me. Not sure if I would go back again to eat but the store with the goodies was nice! Wheelchair accessibility: Park spaces out the front and have a ramp for wheelchairs
