I go to a dentist for dentistry not for a bedside manner----I have been going to Dr. Macina for several years---I have always had excellent dentistry. If Ive ever had a non dental  problem, I mention the problem, see that it is corrected and go on from there. Professionals are human beings. I might add that I have always found him to be friendly.

Dr. is very proficient and thorough, from my experience.  He replaced a cap on my tooth and made certain it there wasn't a gap as I have experienced from a previous dentist.  I like the fact that there is a TV playing in each treatment room that dissipates any anxiety that I might have over waiting in the dentist chair. Best prices for those who don't have insurance, like our family.

I personally really like this office. The staff is very friendly, they can get me in for appointments quickly, and I liked the doctor. He's not warm and cuddly or anything but he's very good at what he does. I don't know why anyone would bring children here--they should go to a pediatric dentist instead. He was able to fill a severely decayed tooth for me and I have had 0 sensitivity/pain from it. I'll be going back to get two more teeth filled and perhaps have my wisdom teeth extracted. Good prices, too, and they accept dental discount plans as well as insurance.

If you value your time, DO NOT GO HERE. Dr. Macina has a poster boasting about years of experience or something similar to that. But I started going there maybe 2 years ago, and never really felt valued. He told me I needed a cavity drilled, though that tooth never bothered me. About a month after he did that, this tooth started hurting horribly. Went back in, now he said I needed a root canal. I did that. Took 2 visits and lots of pain. Through these visits, I'd consistently wait 20-30 minutes in the waiting room and then after being in the chair, he'd go to other patients and I'd wait in there as well. Another time, after waiting for about 25 minutes in the waiting room, they put me in a chair just to get me sat then 10 minutes after sitting there they came in and told me they overbooked him bigtime that day and that I was welcome to continue waiting for quite longer or reschedule. I should have just stopped going there at that point but I'm too forgiving. Today I had an appointment for a simple cleaning. My appointment was for 11. I got there about 10 minutes early, because I always feel like you should be on time for appointments (unlike this office). I waited and grew more and more impatient, though I should be used to this since it ALWAYS happens here. Finally at 11:35 I just got up and left. I would have said something before leaving but the lady behind the desk was clearing up an issue with another patient and I wasn't going to wait any longer. In that whole time of me waiting, not one person came out and told me sorry for the wait or explained why I was sitting there so long. I will not reschedule and I will NEVER go back there. I'm sure there are other offices out there who actually care about their patients time, but not this office.

Dr. Macina had a court order to refund me $200.00 for services I prepaid for  but decided not to have done.  
The court order stated that he needed to pay me within 14 days of receiving the notice & he has neglected to do so (it's been 18 months at this point).  
Is this the kind of person you want to trust your dental health to? 

Also, the office was not the cleanest & twice when I was there the toilet didn't work properly & the bathroom garbage was overflowing with paper towels.
