What a dump! There is trash and old items strewn about the entire campground. It's overpriced and dangerous because of the people living there. Keep your family safe by staying away from here.

Extremely run down. Trailers in disrepair strewn all over the place. Water barely had enough pressure to make it out of the faucet, certainly not enough to get anything into our tank. Pitch was so boggy that we had to lock the differential and dig 12 inch ruts to get the truck out. Can't really say anything good about the place, except that it is convenient for Catoctin Mountain NP.

We drove up to Thurmont to go camping on Labor Day Weekend a year or two ago. My husband has many fond memories of the Crows Nest Lodge from his childhood. He tried to call several times prior to the date we left to make reservations there but no one would ever return his calls.Since we had no reservations, we tried a couple of the State Parks with no luck so we decided to try Crow's Nest Campground in person. The place is very run down, we couldn't find anybody to help us when we arrived so never could determine whether they had any sites available or not. But driving around the campground we decided we were not going to stay anyway. Ended up driving 3 hours back home instead.
