My boyfriend and I came in here to get to-go before we left town. It was our first time here. I got a small build your own salad and he got the mushroom, sausage, and pepperoni flatbread pizza. It was kind of like Qdoba set up for the salad where you can pick all the toppings, dressings, croutons, proteins, and more for your salad. All the ingredients looked extremely fresh and the male working asked us if we had ever been here before and helped us out. He hooked me up with a dressing to try and the ones I wanted. He also hooked us up with silverware, napkins, and a cup for ice water and they had lemons out for water too. Overall I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a yummy salad and good flatbread!
This was my first experience with Crushed Red. The staff are very friendly and very helpful! The restaurant was clean and welcoming; you seat yourself. They serve alcohol, you can even purchase a bottle of wine. We arrived an hour before closing and were told to take our time. Our salads were amazing with the option to build your own or choose from the menu. The Cabo Diablo Stiks are excellent. They are topped with a sweet sauce that tasted like honey might have been, I'm unsure. The pizza was okay, not as tasty as I had hoped. And again, you can choose from the menu or build your own; we had a mixture. Overall the experience was great! I will certainly give them another try.
The service and atmosphere are fantastic. Friendly people with great attitudes. Attentive without hovering. Excellent. The food is absolutely delicious. ‘This Pear is on Fire’ ever. I don’t even bother with the salad dressing – it is delicious without it. The pizzas are amazing and the goat cheese dip is to die for. Highly recommend.
My sister took me to this lunch spot in Clayton and pitched it to me as a nicer, on-off Panera - and I believe this was largely accurate. Their menu has a wide array of soup, salad, sandwiches, and flatbreads. It is a little more interesting that you typical lunch place and I appreciated the innovative ways they use flatbreads to fill out their menu. We were there for an early weekday lunch and Crushed Red was practically empty. We split hummus and I got a Chicken Caesar flatbread and Butternut Squash soup. All of the food was really good but also very expensive. I did appreciate how the portion sizes were not massive. Perfect for lunch. One unique thing about this place is the pepper bar that they have available as self-service in the middle of the retsuraunt. I liked this as a self-service option if you want to spice up your meal. They also allow you to endlessly customize your salad should you choose to get one. This place was good, not great. I would recommend it for a work lunch or a quick bite but it is nothing special.
Food was great. I had the shrimp pizza and my wife had the mushroom pizza. The real name was much fancier and sounded more appetizing but that’s all I remember. I would highly recommend. Not cheap but this is the city and this is Clayton. Great atmosphere and the staff was very nice. BEST THING OF ALL IS THAT THEY CHECKED MY ID when I paid with my debit card!!
Crushed red makes great gourmet salads. They are expensive, but the presentation is part of the price. The warm herb goat cheese dip is a great appetizer; the nuts and honey are a wonderful added touch. The service at the Clayton location can be wanting at times. But the food is always good. Their patio is also pleasant on a warm summer evening.
Honestly I really want to like this place because it does taste good, but they market themselves as "healthy" but have a salad with 77% of your daily recommended sodium. Why the heck does a salad have that much salt? And it's a "salt and pepper mix" and the one thing you can't remove when ordering online. If you actually care about your health go somewhere else!
Extremely disappointed with the salad delivery. The products were obviously stale, and the salad itself looked like it had been kept for a long time somewhere without proper care. Bad smell. When I called the establishment and said about the quality of the salad, the representative of this establishment, to my surprise, did not make any apologies, but only began to argue with me, saying that the salad was fresh. At the same time, I see a stale salad in front of me. Didn't even try it - it's not what I paid for.
I placed a curbside order and couldn't figure out where to park, so I called and a very nice woman brought my food out to the street side of the building. I had the southwest bowl salad and it was very good! Chipotle dressing had just the right amount of spice for me. The butternut squash soup and the roasted red pepper gouda bisque were absolutely divine.
The patio is beautiful, the service was phenomenal, everyone was so friendly and helpful. And the food, as always is delicious, and I don't normally like salads. If you want some good food and a great experience while visiting Clayton I definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
