The service was outstanding. Pizza was incredible. Cocktails top notch. Robert must be a mixologist. His knowledge of adult beverages is impressive. I will definitely be back.
This was a great find when we were staying at the Clayton Plaza. Very good food and helpful staff. I liked that the music/TV volume was at a reasonable level and allowed our family to have conversations. The back room looks really cool and would be great for a private party. Wings were delicious. Kid-friendliness: I don't know what it's like at night but in the early evening it was perfectly fine to take kids.
Stopped in during happy hour. Ordered the "lightly fried" ravioli which looked liked the cook forgot them in the fryer. The chicken tenders were fine and the slider burger was goodbut small, which the waitress did explain. Never saw our first waitress again who failed to explain that certain beers were exempt from their BOGO happy hour beer/wine offer, and unknowingly my husband did not order a beer that was included. Had to ask for a glass of water. Also had to go looking for our bill. Attached is a picture of the ravioli that was on the verge of being burnt. We were the only patrons in the restaurant section. Maybe things would have been better in the bar area. Won't be back.
Amazing hot fresh inexpensive food. Ice cold draft beer
Great spot to get away of all the corporate vibes of Clayton. Come in to this local watering hole and get Busch beer for 2 bucks and get the Field’s sliders and chicken chili. This place will always be an institution in Clayton!
John P .Field’s has good customer service from what I experienced but their food is awful would not recommend to anyone. We spent 43 dollars on potato skins which were hard and dry! We also go the buffalo wings probably the best out of the 3 but still would not recommend they were soggy which I don’t even know how that’s possible. Last we got the cheese steak, the meet was crispy and dry like it way to over cook or it’s been sitting in a well got hours just gross. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR FOOD, it’s not worth it.
I’ve had a few friends tell me that they hired a new head chef and the burgers he prepare are the best in Saint Louis. Being the burger enthusiast, I am. I had to try. Our server was attentive. I had the Cowboy Burger, my wife had the Late Night and my son had the Chicken Street Tacos. It was a flavor profile beyond this world. Perfectly executed spices and the bourbon barbecue sauce. I had to sample all the food at the table. Three different profiles, all executed beautifully. I would say they not only have the best burgers in Saint Louis, but the best street tacos as well. Service, Food Quality, and Yum factor. 10/10. Would definitely recommend.
One bartender is attentive and has a great attitude, other than that they’ve had a long-term problem with their service, turning over the staff over each season. It takes forever to get anything served, you have to go to the bar to ask if your food order has been put in or if it’s ready, then you’ll discover it’s been sitting in the kitchen. Getting the check has taken an hour and you’ll have to go to the bar and ask for it. Not sure if it’s a lack of servers or attitude of servers but it’s very rare to a positive service experience in years of visiting. These issues more than offset any positives regarding the food, drinks etc
I was given a recommendation from my coworker to try the food out, so me and wife had a date night and tried the food out. Our bartender was extremely nice, she gave us recommendations for the food and told us about the chef in the kitchen. We had the Spinach Artichoke, Lobster Macaroni and the Chicken Street Tacos. It was flavorful and the perfect blend of seasonings per dish. The chicken street tacos with the elote corn was so authentic. At the end of the meal, we seen the executive chef come out the kitchen, he greeted each table that had food, ask them how they liked the food and asked if they needed anything. Haven’t been to a restaurant where the commitment level for every guest was the same, at each table he visited, he introduced himself and smiled. There were people that came up to him, which my guess would be regulars and they absolutely adored him. We will definitely be back to try all the other great items on the menu. First experience since at a restaurant post-Covid and they have definitely set the standard.
The food was excellent. I'll be back for another Turkey BLT. The pepper jack cheese bites are not to be missed. My husband loved his chef's macaroni side and his huge burger. They had the new no carb bud light which I was really excited about. I hope they keep it in their rotation. The restaurant was understaffed, but aren't they all? Despite the crowd, the staff was patient and in good spirits. They didn't mind when my husband and I moved across the restaurant - necessary due to a loud and rambunctious party of college kids. The other side of the restaurant was peaceful! Nothing was clean. Tables were unbussed, there was abandoned food on the floor, and the bathroom was filthy. I don't fault the staff for this. There were only three ladies working, two of whom were behind the bar the entire time. The restaurant could really use a busser. Despite this, I can't wait for another one of those Turkey BLT's. Mmmmm!
