A good Japanese restaurant, definitely one of the best in the area if had so far. It is on the pricier side, but the quality is very good and the ambiance is very relaxed. It is a counter order style so there’s no wait staff, but the employees are very helpful and friendly. The rice plate was drier than I expected, but the ramen was good and the pork bao was phenomenal, arguably one of the best I’ve had. They also have a small collection of Asian drinks, snacks, and pastries to choose from. Definitely a place to try and lots of variety to come back to!
Fantastic food! Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Food was fresh and cooked perfect. Goyza: Exactly what you want from pan fried dumplings. Juicy inside with a nice crispy noodley outside. Buns: Some of the best I’ve had. Dough was great, the meat was great, the sauce was great and all around just perfect! My favorite out of the 3 was the Kakuni Bun and is a must try if you love pork belly. Rice Bowls: Both bowls were really good. Rice was cooked perfect, super flavorful and tasty. Overall great! One con was they didn’t have fountain drinks, only canned drinks. Not a huge deal but something to note. Will return 100%
This was our first experience here. We are frequent diners at the sister restaurant Fukuda. The food here was very good, I was just not a big fan of the counter ordering and drink options, I prefer waitstaff and table service HOWEVER that is just a personal preference.
Pros: amazingly delicious ramen, amazingly delicious rice bowls, tasty skewers, tiny market section with drinks, desserts, and alcohol, very easy to order, picture menu on the wall, large portions, good value Cons: limited parking, service varies from ok to great, it ain't cheap you're paying for quality and size I think this is the best ramen I've ever had; really love their classic tonkatsu, curry chicken, and kakuni old fashioned ramens. They have very tasty curry chicken don, yakitori don, buns and skewers too. You just order at the counter, take a seat and they bring it to you. They also have a really cool market-like section where you can buy ice cream, cake, sake, Japanese kitkats, ramune, and other treats--just grab them and take them to the register. Almost every time I go they get part of my order wrong, but the food tastes so good I end up not caring. This place is a real gem; I 100% recommend eating here!
This place is my favorite quick stop for lunch or dinner. Never disappointed with their food. Its always fresh made and taste really good. The service is also great and friendly. Highly recommend tp try this place if you are visiting or in the area.
Ramen place on southbound side of I-45 in north Spring/ The Woodlands at the south end of a strip center. Large servings- ample bowls with loads of veggies and tofu in the vegetarian option we ordered. Very tasty. They also sell packaged meals in a refrigerated case. We came into an empty restaurant 20 minutes before closing and they were as nice as if we had come in an hour earlier.
I had the chicken katsu don and some spam thing and loved it. We went for a family members birthday. The atmosphere was really relaxed. Next we will have to try the ramen. I would suggest if you are going to Daikoku, look over the menu online to pick what you want. It is a order at the counter, sit, and food brought out area.
Absolutely fantastic ramen!!! Full-bodied flavor in all the broths we tried: Kimchee Dumplings Ramen, Chicken Curry Ramen, and Kakuni Old Fashioned Ramen. Everything was on point.
Food = 5 stars. Delicious and authentic. Service = 2 stars. Hardly anybody in the restaurant and took over 25 minutes to get our food. Loved the food, but make it faster!
I ate the "A. Kakuni Old Fashion" Ramen for $13 and enjoyed it very much . Order from the Cashier, grab a table, then they will bring it out to you ... fresh and piping hot. Good portions compared to other Ramen shops. Tonkotsu + broth, braised pork belly ChaShu, soft boiled egg, bok choy, kikurage mushrooms, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, scallions, sesame oil, nori, chili oil, mayu black garlic oil.
