Overall this is a very nice place to stay in a rig or tent. If tenting I'd stay in loop S all the way at the end of the road, closest to the dam. These spots are right on the water and are shaded. We paid $20 a night for a 50 amp site. We did have some strange electric issues throughout our stay (lost power twice and had brown outs) but overall it was fine. We stayed in a 35' RV and discovered finding a levelish spot tricky (in October the sites are first come first serve). We have slides so we wanted views and all our tires on the ground when using the jacks. We ended up in J1 and were pretty level. We tried a few other spots that didn't work. A word of warning, some the the loops are a little tight and curvy and could be unpassable with some rigs. So you may want to wander through or use your tow vehicle to scout out your site. Also, J loop and several others are electric only. A couple loops have electric and water but those were more like a traditional RV park and the rigs were close together. All areas of the park have quite a bit of shade and the park is really nice to walk through. There are many spots with a view of the water. On the way in we used the dump station to empty and fill and all was well there. The beach is really a very steep paved hill to the water where some sand is scattered. It's a bit weird but the water was warm enough to play in the first couple days we were here (October 2017). In the camping area there is a dock to launch boats.

Nothing but a up all night animal party house where regular campers couldn't even sleep at night with kids forced to stay up all night from all the partying and yelling all might long and not paroled enough. It's a big joke and all they cared about was the camping fee and making money but a BIG THANKS TO CLEBURNE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPT FOR PROMPT RESPONSE AND THE PROBLEMS THEY DID SOLVE! ABSOLUTE WORST CAMPING EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! But the campground was well kept and neat. The people partying and how little the management seemed to care is what was horrible. Never go there again. It's a national park where alcohol isn't even allowed. There was no since in that. Crappy management with very little consideration for regular family oriented camping.
