Lots of beautiful trails and views here. Was extremely clean minus a few articles of clothing. Saw lots of wildlife. Bikers were very courteous. Excited to try a new trail next time. Be careful not to get sidetracked, I did follow what i though was a continuation of the main trail but it was an offshoot and took me through some densely wooded spider infested areas whoops!

We went to Dana Peak to go kayaking. The water levels were very low and getting to the water was rocky and slippery so wear good shoes. There is a huge insect problem. I have no idea what they're called but they land ALL over you. My shirt was black when I got there but after a few moments I had so many of these bugs on me that my shirt looked white. The only time I was able to escape them was when I got in the kayak and away from shore. I paid $5 to get in too. I won't be back. Stillhouse is better.

I've hiked/walked some of the nearby trails. Couldn't get in to the actual gates park. It costs $5 and they only except cash. From outside the gate the park look nice and sat right against the lake.

We love this lake. We went here several times during the summer. It is very clear, and there are lots of fun areas to swim. There is the public swimming beach area, with rocks that are comfortable to walk on and a little park for the kids who get tired of swimming. Bring a shade, it gets hot on the beach. Dogs aren’t allowed on that beach, but they are in the park. There is a large grassy area with picnic areas that are quite private and spread out. You can take dogs into the water if you walk down from a picnic table to swim. We loved to swim there mostly, but water shoes are pretty needed, the rocks hurt. Our dog loved swimming with us in this area.

Very open, very spacious, and the trails seemed to go on forever. There's a few places where the trail takes you near the lake and it's a great view. Seems like a good spot not only for hiking, but jogging and biking if you're into it.
