I would give less than one star if it was possible. Drivers are rude and disrespectful. Elderly people are spoken down to and treated horribly. These are people that need rides to Dr appointments and dialysis. Shut up is a common word and threats to an elderly lady in a wheelchair to leave on side of the road because you had the wrong information on her dialysis appointme. Never on time. If your that unhappy with your job, find another one.

To start with I will say "I thought SEPTA in Philly was bad but this is a different level of disaster" First of all over the years DART has gone downhill in general in the Kent and Sussex area. Wilmington/new Castle is hit or miss really depends on the day. They want 4.20 for a daily pass but showing up on time must be some sort of rocket science because they don't seem to grasp the concept. Then in Rehoboth and Lewes park and ride locations they have absolutely zero order or control. Once a bus shows up (late of course) all 125 people waiting make a beeline for the bus and I have seen elderly people just shoved out of the way in the past. Then they argue about having the correct fare and I have personally witnessed a driver tell a tourist that the machine will give change for a 20. THE MACHINE HAS NEVER IN DART HISTORY GIVEN CHANGE FOR BILL. Obviously once the money was in it wasn't coming out and a tourist ended up paying 20 dollars for a 4.20 daily pass. (They were not happy) Next I will say not all the drivers are bad in fact I know 6 of them personally and they are good people. But the vast majority are going to be ignorant. Speaking of ignorant don't talk to a supervisor named "Skip" he is the most disgusting excuse for a human I have ever seen. He is rude, he tries to kick people off the bus whom he doesn't like. I heard complaints from 4 different people about him being the one who keyed their cars while they were at work because he was mad they got the 4 dollar daily discount from their employer to park their car in the lot instead of paying the full 10 dollars. Even though this is a employer discount contact agreement. Also if you ever choose to ride DART ask any driver if they have issues with "Skip" the supervisor. I did a survey amongst drivers about 2 weeks ago. Results were 98% of drivers have been disrespected or cursed at by him. It has gotten so bad even the state police department hates him. They stopped responding to his false alarm phone calls a few days ago. All the above info is based mainly on the beach bus resort transit service. This is run by a contract company called "first transit" Other DART services are run by "MV Transportation" they are not as bad but the routes are still always late and with exception of route 206 during the summer, weekend service is non-existent. In Dover most of the buses are late in most parts with the exception of the Dover transit hub. As this is end of the route they are usually on time. Sunday service is also non-existent. In Wilmington most drivers are decent and don't get smart often although it does happen. In all honesty Wilmington has it better than the other parts of Delaware when it comes to bus service. However when you call the main office in Wilmington most of the time they are understanding about the other issues in other parts of the DART services and will try to help you in any way they can. I will say they have gone downhill over the years and as a frequent rider myself I will say they really need to pull it together. Fix the schedules and be on time Hire drivers who have a concept of respect. Get rid of "first transit" for Rehoboth put MV Transportation that place instead. If they have to stay-move them to another part of the system. Tourist shouldn't have to deal with them. This brings a bad name to a otherwise popular tourist location. (Better yet-keep them and fire the supervisor "Skip" this might fix the issue) Fix this and I am happy to give you guys a good review but I can not honestly say the way things are going that you are exactly 5 star review material. It seems that more issues are brought up by people each year. But none of these issues are addressed and it gets worse.

This bus service is unreliable and unprofessional. On top of being frequently late, the drivers don't own up to their errors and they could care less. The bus on my route comes every 30 minutes (Route 101). I arrived to the bus stop 6 minutes before the scheduled arrival time. That bus never came. I waited over 20 minutes. I called the Dart customer service (800 number) to see what on earth happened to that bus. Was it late, did it break down, or what? They failed to provide me with an answer. All I got was the run around. They transferred me to four different individuals each time I told the other about the issue. They informed me that the next bus would be there shortly, which I already knew, but couldn't tell me the whereabouts of the previous bus that never arrived. It's as if they were purposely avoiding the question.

I've been riding this bus for a year now since I don't have a car, and recently the 101 driver hit something, messing my arm and my neck up including my fiancées, nevertheless I still haven't received a call back from their transportation safety representative, terrible service, guess I just have to do what my attorney said, and go to Dover post while I'm at it. It's sad to see this place go down hill, now I'm afraid to even ride the bus considering the fact majority of their drivers can't 'drive', this is the second time the 101 has crashed into something, or gotten into an accident, and I can't even get a CALL BACK? Seriously!

If you can find another way to work please do. Because the bus transit has went downhill. The bus just up and left me when I was standing right there at the bus stop. The operator just argued with me on some procedure instead of listening to me that there were two customers before me and they both were handi capable. And one of them asked for change so I was giving it to them and she just pulled off. Instead of putting the ramp down for him while I was giving the change to the other. She just pulled off and me running next the bus staring right at her through the door and she looked at me and still kept going. The nerve.
