The food was amazing. The chef accommodated in the best way possible. The carbonara pasta was not on the menu and they made it for me. It was really good. The staff was friendly but seemed inexperienced. The waitress didn't really check in with me and I had to go out of my way to ask a manager for my check. Will I return, probably for take out. The food was great but there's a lack of diversity. Try hiring some African Americans or other races for that matter. That's a major turn off, there no diversity in here!!! Change that!

It's not often that I write poor reviews of restaurants because I know it's a difficult business in which to succeed and I also know that service can't be perfect all of the time. However, in this case, I feel I must write a negative review, considering the amount of money I spent on the meal and the unpleasant overall experience. My friend recently had a birthday and as is the custom, I always ask her to choose a restaurant for a birthday dinner as a gift from me. She chose Davio's and we opted to dine at the Lynnfield, Massachusetts location. We did not make a reservation because we spent the day (Friday, November 24, 2017) traveling around Cape Ann and didn't know how long we'd be. Fortunately, we finished our tour at around 4:15 and drove to Lynnfield. We arrived at 5 p.m. and approached the hostess station. We asked for a table to two and the hostess asked if we had a reservation. "No," I said. She rolled her eyes, as if not having a reservation was offensive to her, and asked a second hostess to take us to table. The second hostess took us to the least desirable table in the building - namely the table directly across from the restrooms and next to the kitchen, which, I discovered over the next 90 minutes, was the most heavily traveled area in the restaurant. The waitstaff, busboys, and customers hustled by at a constant rate, to and fro, and my chair was jostled several times. It was loud, due to the proximity to the kitchen, and conversation was impossible at times. Needless to say, while the food and service were excellent, the overall experience was not - especially considering the meal cost me over $120.00. I should note here that though it was a Friday and the assumption is that restaurants are extremely busy on Friday evenings, this restaurant was not. In fact, most of the tables and booths were empty when we arrived and when we departed 90 minutes later, close to half of the tables and booths were still unoccupied. In short, it was not an extremely busy night. There were plenty of tables to choose from and because we didn't have a reservation, the hostess thought it necessary to "punish" us by sending us to the least desirable table in the building. In hindsight, I wish that I had taken pictures or video to show how terrible the location was. We often dine at higher cost restaurants because we enjoy a good meal, but I hesitate to spend my hard-earned money at a restaurant where I'm treated like a leper simply because I didn't make a reservation - especially a restaurant that is far from busy and has plenty of tables to choose from. Lastly, in my experience, the higher cost restaurants have a custom of managers approaching each individual table to ask about the quality of service and food. At no point did I see a manager approach fellow diners to ask if their experience was acceptable. And since I was in the most highly traveled area of the restaurant, I was in the best possible location to witness this. Frankly, Davio's, if you want me to spend an inordinate amount of money sampling your cuisine, you have to treat me better.

High quality ingredients, simple but perfect preparation. Stopped in on a SAT afternoon for a light meal. Cesar salad with white anchovies, grilled swordfish and truffle fries - excellent and so was the blackberry margherita. Great service too. The only annoyance was the hostess greeting us, then taking a personal call for 2 or 3 minutes with her back turned towards us - we almost walked out.

The food is always good. But our meals were a la carte and we didn't know it. That's a change from the past, so we had no vegetable. And tonight the service was bad. We sat in the somewhat cramped section where there's a long booth with small tables that fit two people. And it's extremely loud. You're inches from the person next to you. It took a long time to place our order. I asked for an extra napkin for my wheelchair-bound husband but we didn't get it. Waitress never asked how our food was! Somehow it got really cold - and I'm always pretty hot. I heard the waitress ask the couple next to us if it was cold, and the woman said "a little". There were several people holding their arms like they're cold, including me. It stayed that cold for 20 mins until we left. We had wanted to get dessert and coffee. But between the cold and waiting for the waitress to come over long after we finished, we gave up. It was disappointing, and the price tag without side dishes, was $150. Come on.

I am constantly floored by on line reviewers, anyone that gives Davios Lynnfield a sub par review must be working for another restaurant and is trying to ruin Davios good name or maybe they just shouldn't be allowed out in public. This restaurant is as good as any my wife and I have ever been to. The wait staff and bartenders are absolutely first rate and always go out of their way to provide industry leading customer service. We drive through Friday traffic from Burlington, which by the way has a number of first rate restaurants, to partake in the fabulous food and A+ customer service. It is a shame that the miserable minority has been given a soap box to stand on and give poor ratings to really nice people serving really great food. Please give Davios a try, you will not be disappointed.
