First off, you should be aware that they solicit reviews in exchange for $50 gift cards... so you may want to take them w/ a grain of salt. Secondly, this is probably the least organized or professional company I've encountered as a 15 year+ home owner and the first time I've ever gone out of my way to give a negative review for a business. I needed to have some electrical work completed before the end of the week and resorted to DEAR Services, figuring that a dispatch/contracting company would be fine for a small, simple job (relocating a light switch to another wall, about 5' away). To start, I was scheduled for an 8:00 AM appt. When no one showed by 8:30, I called and they said the appointment was from 8-9. When I called at 9:15, they said their assigned electrician had a personal emergency and couldn't make it (later found out he called in sick), but no one had bothered to tell me. They said they could reschedule for later in the day and would call me back. After having made accommodations at work to be late, I heard back a bit before 9:45 and I had to reschedule for the end of the day (5:00, latest slot available during normal hours). I headed into work, but now meant that I would also have to leave work early to make it back in time... I head home, 5:00 rolls by and still no word. After he was scheduled to arrive, the assigned electrician calls and was complaining that he was still two hours away and wanted to reschedule (the city he was in is more like 40 minutes away w/ traffic, but I didn't argue). I said that was okay, but that I needed the work done before the weekend (several other jobs were waiting on this to be completed), so it could be pushed 1-2 days, but no further. He said he'd find out their availability and call me back. He never called back... 30 minutes later, I call the dispatch again and they had no idea what was going on, but they said they would look into it and give me a call back. 20-30 minutes later I get a call back saying they could send someone out to complete the work in 2 hours (different electrician). At this point I asked them to confirm that the dispatched electrician be available for a couple hours, in case the job took a while to complete. They assured me that they would be. About 1.5 hours later, the newly assigned electrician calls and heads over. The only problem is... no one told him the call was for him to complete the work. They had apparently told him it was only for an estimate and since he was at the end of a 14 hour shift, he couldn't do the work then. That was perfectly reasonable from his standpoint, but given how everything had unfolded, it was ridiculous for the dispatch to make promises otherwise. So, at this point I had made arrangements to be late for work, arrangements to leave early from work, had to wait around hours for them to show up late (and, cumulatively, spent hours waiting to be called back between all the back and forth with dispatch) was promised they could work late and ended up with less than nothing to show for it (but now w/ my other plans in jeopardy). All said, it was upwards of 20 calls back and forth to coordinate... unsuccessfully. When I called them after this had wrapped up, they weren't able to get a hold of their manager to see what could be done to resolve the issue (and potentially reschedule, once again, before the end of the week). Another promise to be called back... To date, they missed my window to complete the work and they never called back or followed up and, at this point, I couldn't care less. I don't think they deserve the business. The only redeeming thing throughout all of this is that some of the people I dealt with were at least semi-understanding/empathetic, but at some point that isn't enough to offset repeated instances of incompetency and the complete lack of follow through (and, believe it or not, this is leaving out some other negative opinions for the sake of brevity!) Do yourself a favor and avoid DEAR Services.

I called and originally was told it wouldn’t be until Wednesday until someone could come out as it was a Sunday when I called. Called back Monday morning and was greeted by a nice young lady on the phone. Very pleasant and helpful. She made the appointment for Tuesday but called me back and was able to get me in the same day. Lucus came and was very polite. He explained and walked me through everything. I would tell friends and neighbors about this company. Keep up the good work guys!!!!

Jason is great. Knows what he’s doing. However, I for sure paid more than I would have if I hadn’t been in a semi-emergent situation. BUT, they were also available right away, and Jason was great about coming back immediately to do the job after seeing what it was I needed. *They are a company that does multiple services: plumbing, electrical, etc.., so they want to sell you a membership wherein you can get discounts on future services, which is something I personally dislike. I prefer: Do the job. If I’m happy, I WILL contact you in the future for other jobs.

NOT RECOMMENDED!! First of all, our appointment was cancelled for 2 times while we were taking days off from work and waiting for them to come. In the 3rd appointment, the technician was suppose to come between 8 am and 9 am. We had been waiting for 3 hours but he didn't show up at all. During the time, we called the customer service in every 30 minutes trying to get an ETA. And every time the ETA was "the technician will come soon". There is no good word I can use to describe this company and I hope this review can help people to save time and make good decisions.

The job was contracted to repair a leak in slab radiated floor heating and patch the concrete. I would take care of the wall to wall carpet. I have Jason the electrician show up for the repair. ( what kinda outfit dispatches a electrician for a plumbing job) . He brings a claw hammer, three pound mallet and a crow bar to work on the job. After a half hour of work and one quarter of an inch of concrete removal I said stop. I will supply the proper tools for the job. I bring out my Rota-hammer , Work Lights, 14 Gallon Shop vac. The job went way faster. After the leaking was exposed. Jason went for plumbing supplies, A hour and a half later he arrives. He cuts out the bad section and has a Saws-all to cut the copper pipes, I supply him a pipe cutter for a clean joints. His torch fails and I supply mine. As he is going out to get concrete patch and the binder to bind old concrete to new(had to print the Lowe's page for what is needed). I re-pressurized the system and found another leak one foot away. When Jason arrived I pointed out the new leak and he rota hammered and patched the last leak. I had to show Jason how to mix the concrete and to paint the new copper with paint to isolate the chemical reaction between copper and concrete. The job lasted 12:30 to 7:30 with two and a quarter hours for parts runs. I was charged full contract price. Do you think this is fair? I Call and only get answering service, No return calls. And I get Emails of my contract/Invoice seconds after my calls. Not Recommended For Jobs. Note: The Tech, Jason, If you are a competitor hire him. Excellent worker, willing to learn, thanked me for the cross trade education I provided. John
