I was under a time constraint to get a new id card and couldn't wait a month for an appointment so I had to do a walk in (this has never been an issue at any other id office).On my first trip the lady at the front was rather coarse, I waited seven hours and some change until the place closed and didn't get a card. My second trip (I got there before it opened) a different lady was working the front with short hair, she was very amicable and informative(I would give her five stars), and I only had to wait 3 hours.. better but this place is hell on earth.

I lost my ID and was able to do a walk in the next day because the next scheduled appointment was a month out. I waited maybe 1.5 hours, which I didn't think was bad. The receptionist wasn't very welcoming however the person who assisted me was. I had my POA and was in and out she even had toys in her office for small children, how thoughtful! This is a better location and it seems like they are trying to do better. My only suggestion would be to hire and train more people. Keep up the good work. 😊

ID Cards/DEERS sections have always been ok in my experience across multiple Army installations. Never great but never really bad either. But this Ft Bliss branch is a complete joke. Appointment wait times are always long but this branch is out 1 1/2 months! Additionally, the website to make appointments has been down for the last two weeks (404 error). Called in to make an appointment and just received a hello? Like I was interrupting something. This is a place of business, do they not know how to answer the phone? Then it turns out they don't make appointments over the phone. Their solution? Just keep checking the web site or you can try your luck as a walk-in. Everything that is bad about this branch is compounded by the fact that it is the ONLY location for dependent ID cards. How can this be acceptable at a garrison the size of Ft Bliss? I imagine those with enough rank to effect change don't have any issues getting in so they don't see a problem. Meanwhile, I guess I will have to deal with soon to be expired ID cards and keep checking the busted website. I wish I could say to avoid this place but unfortunately there is no choice.

The female at the front desk deserves my ONE star for a polite greeting. This place is garbage! For walk-ins, they open at 0730 and tell you to take a seat and wait. They fail to tell you how long the wait is. Time now is 1204. If these "ladies" are taking their lunch, why not come out to the waiting area to announce that you're on lunch? That way we can break for lunch as well and reconvene at 1300 for walk ins. They have no problem WASTING soldiers/spouses/family members time. I mean we all have a life too!

All of my experiences with DEERS are hit and miss, but this one was well better than expected. Checked in as a walk in foe a lost ID card at 0903. Upon check-in, they check to make sure you have what you need to get what you expect done at the time. Wasn't many people in there today and i onli saw about 2 or 3 stations calling people back. All in all, we were out witha new dependent id by 0930. Friendly staff, positive experience.
