The Army JROTC Program emphasizes character education, student achievement, wellness, leadership, and diversity. It is a cooperative effort on the part of the military services and host institutions to produce successful students and citizens, while fostering in each school a more constructive and disciplined learning environment. JROTC makes substantial contributions to students, schools, and communities which benefit greatly from its presence.

I am posting about the registration process. I had to wait in line for 2 hours on day 1 start after winter break just to enroll my child. Parents should be able to enroll at least a week prior before school resumes. They need a better system for inprocessing.

If you are really looking for opportunity, I suggest that you go here. This is my third high school, as I am a military dependent, and I can attest to the many different choices you have here. The main problem is, that they are only open to freshmen and sophomores, if you are lucky. From what I can see, the magnet program is the main attraction for students going here, and for good reason. The magnet program is useful for introducing students to classes that are similar, if not harder than college level courses. Unfortunately, I have noticed that many students also abuse this program as a way to play sports at Chapin; some of these magnet kids are as dumb as a bag of rocks and have to get help passing classes. I still enjoy the school, despite some of the problems. The teachers are generally nice and knowledgeable, with the exception of a few here and there. If you are new here, and want to take some fun, challenging, and eye-opening classes, I suggest you take any class taught by Mrs. Mills (probably the best history and psychology teacher you will ever have!), Mr. Weisbart (a man who will teach you how to animate like the pros!), Mrs. Nassi (Easily, the best English teacher I have had), Mr. C (that's not how it's spelled), the freshmen AP History teacher (I forgot her name, but I can tell you that if you do the work she hands out, you will get a three if not a four on the AP exam), Mr. Jewish teacher guy (that's not his name either, but I will tell you that he is the best physics teacher you will ever have in high school), Mr. Andrade (Chemistry is easy in his class), and our principal is more than fair with his students. The school is pretty good, and I wouldn't go anywhere else in El Paso for my high school career.

There sports aren't as good as Parkland High School,Go Matadors!!!!!!!!!
