There is an exciting new venture in the West Valley! The Tohono O’odham Nation completed the first phase of a new casino near Glendale, Arizona. Desert Diamond Casino - West Valley is providing a major, sustained economic boost to local communities and the state of Arizona.
This unique endeavor is located at 9431 W. Northern Ave. near Glendale, and is in line with guidelines set out in all corresponding laws. Through the completion of future phases, it will be a full-scale, first-class resort and casino that includes amenities such as a spa, convention and meeting rooms, an event center, retail space, restaurants and bars.
The economic impacts of this endeavor has been and will continue to be tremendous and widespread. Construction of the full facility will create thousands of construction jobs and more than 3,000 permanent, new jobs in the community. State and local governments will be bolstered through tax revenues and revenue sharing policies. Finally, the addition of a new casino will increase total gaming revenue in the market.
Support for the new Desert Diamond Casino - West Valley has been overwhelming. The project consistently enjoys greater than 70% of public support. Despite this, wealthy interests focused solely on protecting their market share, have attempted to stall the project through legal maneuvering. Each time the courts and federal agencies have ruled in the Tohono O'odham Nation's favor.
