My mother passed away and she had prepurchased a creamation package, paid in full. It included 50 prayer cards that she had already picked out. When we went to sign the contracts we were told that the style she chose was out of stock and no longer available. If it's already paid for why wouldn't those 50 cards be set aside at the time it was arranged and the down payment was given? So it was no big deal at first, we chose something similar to it. Well the day of the service arrives with NO prayer cards. We asked when we were there. Response was they were looking into it. Service ends. Still no prayer cards. Didn't even follow up with us about them before we left . Then today I called to see when I could drop off my urn to be filled with the others from my family. Left a message and no return call. My sister called them and told me that the staff was totally rude with her. First they told her that the urns could be dropped off today or tomorrow by 5pm. Then she was told that they all had to be dropped off at the same time, that they were not going to wait around for everyone to drop theirs off. As for the prayer cards she was told they had made a mistake on them and the amount paid would be refunded. What a way to treat grieving family members. We will NOT ever use this place again. Nor will I ever recommend them to my friends or family. Word of advice to the company. Get some better customer service training for your employees. Maybe some compassion and sympathy classes would do them a world of good.

Had a very good experience with Desert Memorial. We're especially thankful to Eric who was very compassionate and helpful to our family with the passing of my uncle. Thank you.

A completely horrific experience. They did not get the information correct on the death certificate, and then informed us their mistake was our fault. To correct the mistake we would have to pay a considerable amount more in fees to correct their mistake. In addition, the people that were in charge and who we spoke to were completely rude about the whole circumstance of their error. Shame on them. After suffering a loss like this, you would think there would be a little more compassion in this type of business. I'm sadly disappointed, and would not refer or suggest Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society to anyone. Please feel free to share their incompetence. I'm only lighting up one star because it will not let me post otherwise, and they deserve zero stars.

Horrible, rude unkind unprofessional and uncaring staff!!! Didn't allow me to do a viewing ID of my X husband despite a court order!!! Lazy staff! The woman who screwed up just avoided my calls and never offered as much as an apology!

My uncle passed on February 4 and was taken to Desert Memorial for cremation. After many, many, many calls to different people at Desert Memorial my uncle was "found" and ready for placement at the VA cemetery in Boulder. It took TWO MONTHS for this to happen. We flew in to retrieve his ashes the morning of the service because we had no faith they would deliver his ashes as promised. In fact, while we were at the cemetery, another family was standing around waiting for their departed one's ashes to be delivered by Desert Memorial. We are so very happy we chose to pick up our uncles ashes. The entire experience was full of miscommunications (maybe some would call lies). And not one drop of compassion or sympathy for our loss. In fact, when I asked Kristen Anderson why not one person offered condolences for the loss of our family member, I was told the staff had been instructed not to do so because it sounded insincere. Really? We got more compassion from the TSA agent as we were flying in for the service. I have told all my relatives and friends in Las Vegas to run far, far away from Desert Memorial for their final services. I encourage you to do the same.
