Story

With the tradition of European Style and elegance always in the background of the decision making process, Ed Zazzali and Diamond Spring bring to life the almost non-existent tradition of “The Cabana Club” from the 1950’s to the current day. Hosting pool membership for club members Memorial Day through Labor Day seven days a week Diamond Spring Beach Club carries on a tradition that has existed at this location for almost sixty years. Located in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Nutley, New Jersey Diamond Spring Beach and Café’ is considered by many to be a hidden gem.
The facility was purchased in 2003 and since then it has been nothing but a labor of love for the new ownership. The history of this type of facility is appreciated by many and remembered by those who either frequented this club or belonged to a similar facility that doesn’t exist anymore. The warm memories of summer fun and family are always appreciated.
Since taking ownership of the facility in 2003, Ed Zazzali has turned to his roots and upbringing to make Diamond Spring succeed in today’s world. Hard work and his belief in bringing his tradition of family and food to the members and customers of his establishment are the main goals of Diamond Spring. Aside from the Beach Club Ed Zazzali and Diamond Spring have developed a top notch food establishment that can compete with any around. The almost 3 acre facility has developed an Italian Restaurant and Bar that boasts “Old World Neighborhood and Traditional Style Italian Food”. The dining and catering areas are open all year long and open to the public for all to enjoy. Membership is not required to enjoy any of their food or catering venues.
Coming from a traditional Italian-American upbringing it seemed only right that with good food, drink, friends and family there should be music. The Northern Italian tradition background of his father, along with the southern roots of his mothers Neapolitan heritage form a great menu for all to enjoy. The need to sing and enjoy is the only ingredient missing when enjoying a traditional Neapolitan marinara over pasta. Since the Grand Opening of the Italian Restaurant and Bar in October of 2005 Diamond Spring has hosted live entertainment. The Saturday entertainment has catered to those who listen to, enjoy or grew up with such classics like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Louie Armstrong and Louie Prima.
The pride taken in running this establishment shows in the diversity of events and types of programs held at Diamond Spring. The catering possibilities for indoor events are currently available in two different rooms. They host any type of party from graduation, birthday, anniversary, bridal showers, and any type of religious celebration. Diamond Spring does more and offers outdoor facilities that don’t exist anywhere else. Boasting the largest outdoor wood burning BBQ’s in the area it adds to the flexibility and customizing of the customers special day or event. Diamond Spring has hosted outdoor events in a tented environment for occasions such as outdoor weddings, English High Tea and nighttime pool parties.
Years have passed since Diamond Spring has been established and it has only gotten better and more exciting for those who visit, patronize or join as a member of the Beach Club. It is not uncommon to run into an old friend from the neighborhood at the restaurant or make a new friend at the Beach Club. Ed Zazzali’s Diamond Spring is always evolving and growing to cater to its clientele. The appreciation of the ownership of this establishment for its customers is never overlooked and is the key ingredient for continued success.
