The people who work at this zoo really care and go out of their way to make visits special for kids. My kids also love the playground inside the zoo, the little train, and feeding the fish. Don't come expecting a "big city" zoo. For its size though this is a wonderful place to visit.

Not a fan of locking wild animals in pens of any kind. However, this is a nice lil zoo & the animals are well taken care of. The Hippo exhibit could be larger, but that's supposed to be something different since Henry left in June 2016. We now have 2 Hippo sisters on vacation from another zoo until their new habitat can be built.

It's a smaller zoo, which is actually a good thing if you're a father of two toddlers. With a steady pace, you can easily knock this zoo out in about 3 hrs (that's approximately the amount of time it takes for toddlers to turn into gremlins). Despite its size, the zoo does have nice selection of species, including crowd favorites like Asian Elephants, Hippopotamus, Giraffes (which can be fed from a platform), Lions, Tigers, and Black Bears (oh my!). My daughter is particularly fond of the Diversity of Life building, which houses the majority of the zoo's reptile and amphibian species. It's a nice place to let the kiddos run around and explore all things scaly. Other areas of interest for kids include a playground, maze, and splash pad. Personally, I find the fee worth it, half of which goes right back to conservation efforts around the world.

Really enjoyed it! Great way to follow the trails around and really feel rewarded by seeing the wildlife. Almost would believe that this place could trump a gym membership. Definitely worth the trip though. The animals do more than just sleep which is awesome!

This is an amazing zoo for such a small town. We love to see the elephants and you get to feed the giraffes. There are two hippos there that are on temporary loan right now that are amazing to see. It always seems like this do is improving and making new things come to life. Would highly recommend for family fun time.
