They had the grinding stone and the measuring square that I was looking for. The employee at the counter knew exactly where these items were. Thanks place is air-conditioned really well too. It's very hot for West LA at the moment, so this was nice.

Came here instead of B & B for household supplies.    Eventhough Dick's True Value Hardware is small, it makes up for it by providing service without a 'tude in a store that's clean, organized and bright.  Pretty mellow and easy to flag down someone for help.  If you want to avoid charity for the City of LA parking meters, whip around to the small lot in the back alley to park for free.  Keymaster is in the rear of the store and cashier for the rest of the goods is in the front of the store.

A decidedly small store ... that shines when it comes to 'odd' stuff. Twice before I have looked for something at Lowe's and Home Depot ... to no avail ... only to then fund it here.
