Went for the first time yesterday, loved the looked of the building. Food was good. We had the special fish, hush puppies, fries and drink $6. I substituted coleslaw for fries. I really liked the coleslaw it was fresh and crisp. The fish had a little Cajun seasoning which was very good. The only negative is cleanliness. The booth we set at had food built up between the cushions and booth frame and had not been cleaned in a while. Also there was a lot of dust and debris on the ledge on the wall. We will go back.

Very nice and friendly staff! Coming from out of town it was a nice place to chill and eat while watching the game! Food was amazing!! Will be returning!

Food was good. Seems like everything we had was a little spicy. Would have rated higher, but the service needs some help. I don't think anyone smiled the whole time we were there. Forget about asking questions....they don't like that. Might be the age of workers, everyone was very young. Lastly, the speaker that they use to call your number is way to loud. Scared me everytime they called an order. Hope they work the bugs out. Kaufman needs a good place to eat.

Great that Doe Bellies is "on the square" in Kaufman. Fantastic fried catfish and traditional southern sides.. New location has a nice casual feel with original wood floors, brick walls and an all glass front looking out on the Kaufman square
